There are a LOT of parallels between TG and REN, some of the tracks even sound like they could’ve been from TG sessions….I’ll just leave it there.

I don’t say much in base but it’s been a lot of critiques about a “botched” or “messy” roll out that spawned a number 1 album and single where both have spent multiple weeks in the upper region of the charts. That to me doesn’t come across as messy, botched or unplanned.

Both things can coexist: Everything, at least in hindsight, until album release made sense - withholding the BMS video because it was growing organically with a peak during album release, the teasing up until the album drop, the remixes for BMS, the visual teaser for the MVs. It all worked.
But since then, it's just a let down - no anouncement of a 2nd single, no MV for BMS (still) which means they are letting it die, no set date for the MVs, no upcoming performances, no push on streaming. They are just letting Renaissance die at this point or "do its own thing", which again is them doing nothing.

You said it yourself. Stop having daily meltdowns and keep stream the album.

Uhm their 'roll out' did not spawn a #1 album and single; radio picking it up and the public having a positive response and interest to it as a result did.

A proper roll out like they teased would have made the album and single twice as commercially successful by now. Let's get that straight.

I hope you don’t believe that all radio play is organic and there’s no push from labels. It was proper…we had a wide released single with a date, an album release date, promotional spots for almost every move she made leading up to the album.

BMS was a pushed and promoted single like Bey hasn’t done in years. The people who like and support BMS,  like and support it; a music video or performance, at this point would really just be for us as fans.

This album was too heavily researched and pulled from too many references for there to not be a bigger picture that we just can’t see yet. Beyonce has been very open about realizing where her strength as an artist lies:

It takes enormous patience to rock with me. My process is tedious….I believe my strength is understanding how storytelling, music, lighting, angles, fashion, art direction, history, dance, and editing work together. They are all equally important.

We just have to be patient and listen to her when she repeatedly says being number 1/commercial success is not the main or only priority. She’s been consistently saying this for over a decade. She threw the chart hive a bone with BMS but I tend to believe what she’s been saying because for the most part her actions match.

I feel like at this point it’d make much more sense to release all the visuals at once for act i to re-energize us as fans, make sense of her vision for the album as well as remind the casual listeners that act II is coming. But whatever the situation is, in hindsight it’ll probably all make sense

TG and its botched up release should NOT be the bar we are trying to pass :deadbanana4:

Didnt we already pass it though

No.

No as in she’s not announced? Or for sure confirmed not to be there?

Hasn’t she always shown VMAs love with new releases?

Probably no because she was spotted on a yacht in Croatia and she's known for spending much time while vacationing. It's also her birthday coming up soon and she spent her last few birthdays in Europe as far as i can remember.

I don't think all of its radio support was organic, especially in the beginning and I'm sure the label pushed for it, but that alone would not have been enough to support it for so long and for it to reach overall top3 radio. It did so because the public reaction was positive. Which is why I attribute the #1 peaks more to them lucking out on high interest from the public rather than them having a strategy for which the material can reach its full potential (which they didn't).

I do agree with you about there being a bigger picture that we have yet to see, I'm also okay with the BMS video coming together with the rest of the visuals and I do trust her vision for the whole process of it.

However I don't think bits of extra promo/content would have distracted from that at all. A show stopping performance at the BET would have made national headlines, even a pre-recorded performance would, her saying... well anything about it at all would've drawn a lot of attention to it as well, a YT mini series to coincide with the album release in which she shares some thoughts on the recording and creative ideas behind the album ala ST would've brought a lot of exposure as well, pushing a 2nd single right after the album release should've been a no brainer and for them to release a teaser with no date only for the visuals to come weeks (or potentially more than a month) later makes no sense.

It's honestly not even about #1s and commercial success (which are obviously nice bragging rights to get in the process don't get me wrong) as much as it is about spreading word about the art you have worked so hard on and put so much passion into for the last couple of years and making sure it reaches as many people as possible and you give some perspective of the thought-process behind it. It isn't only 'nice' for the fans but for everyone that might get into this project and/or Beyone the artist as a whole as well.

This would be the first studio album era she hasn't given the VMAs something, so maybe they'll drop the trailer there. :giraffe:

She’s in Croatia on vacation right now and the VMAs are in five days, so it’s pretty safe to say she’s not performing.

To think that Lemonade has both VMAs and Superbowl and this era we got nothing. She's proven that she didn't need the SB/Visual this era.

"Heated" is growing tremendously on me, it is now one of my fav. Since someone mentioned The Gift, I need a physical copy of The Gift so badly :jonny5:JA ARA E, Don't Jealous Me, Water.... This album is full of classics already.

Can we all simply agree that Virgo's Groove is the best of Renaissance? :jonny:
