Either way, Rih. shall easily tie or surpass the Iconic Ms. Spears when she releases #R9 next year and #R10 in 2022.

I doubt it. Maybe in 2-4 years time. You’re also forgetting the fact that Lover was only released a little over a year ago. Meanwhile Rep has been out for almost 3 years now and it’s still gaining numbers like that.

To be fair, the 97M figure is with automatically updated streaming equivalents based on Spotify, so an update wouldn't change her stats majorly. The need for an update is mostly for pure sales and country breakdowns now.

454,000 of that 3.1M comes from free downloads. Those same free downloads that you don't count for Asian artists because you recognize they're manipulated by fans, but seem to conveniently add to Taylor's totals to slow her decline. And that doesn't count the albums given away with sweatshirts which would no longer be eligible per Billboard's attempt to stop chart fraud.
