Because they can break up the certs one by one.

for instance, their is a particular artist who aimed to get a diamond certification for a song but after the fraudulent streams were filtered out they lost about 2m units and it was a waste of the labels money because they had to apply for a new certification.

 

Miley’s label probably applied for 13x put asked to certify in three separate runs to sift out the fake units that would be discarded.

3x platinum for a 7-track EP, omg. She has four albums certified 3x or more now, no one is doing it like her. 

 

Stay really could've saved Can't Be Tamed era. Hollywood Records will need to pay for their sins.

Are we even sure it's eligible for gold at all? it has good Youtube views, but not sure how many came from the US. It didn't even chart at the time.
