you definitely shouldn't reach out again. if they care, they'll make the effort. if you have to force it out of them, then are they really meant to be in your life? i've had to learn this the hard way recently. the good thing is there are absolutely people out there who are for you and will show up for you without forcing it. i understand if it might be "too much" for them or they aren't well equipped to help you with what you're going through but a true friend will communicate that. they'll say "i'm not sure how to help, but i will try my best to understand and be there for you." they won't just make you feel dismissed or not cared for.
