George wrote and produce his every Wham song. Wham wasn’t a group like DC who had tons of producers and writers.

Thats besides the point. That shouldn’t matter when adding their sales together. Beyonce wrote plenty of destiny child songs yet her total sales aren’t added with her former group. Thats like saying beyonce sung majority of all destiny child songs so therefore the sales should be added together. I swear you people make up different rules for different artist

if this were true, album sales would have increased instead of declining year by year since 2003.

I guess they were higher because album sales were before “cassette” which were much cheaper than CDs. That is why the older generation has so many sales. 2003 and on is when Casettes did start to decrease and CDs were preferred.

Overall WW

No it's album sales with SPS not total records

Jennifer Lopez has sold more then 40 million singles alone and more than 35 million pure albums alone

Not Lorde being on there but not Meghan. That Chartmasters site is a joke, he only "analyzes" who he wants to

If you all don’t stop reposting my thread every week. Elvis will be here in about a week or so.

Hmmm is chartmasters still believable after it has been proven that he messed up janet's numbers? I'll pass...

I’m hive and even I don’t believe the narrative that Beyoncé wrote DC songs. She should be credited, since she was the group basically, but not because of writing credits.

I was talking about CD not DC :rip:

Quoted the wrong person :dies:

What did the Shakira update change? Did she pass Madonna and Enya in Latin America? :dancehall:

Wham! is more akin to Selena Gomez & the Scene than Destiny’s Child.

No. They have higher stats because their music was replaced on multiple formats - CDs, cassettes, vinyl, 8-tracks, digital, etc.

Can you post receipts? And what keeps him reliable is that he goes back through and fixes old, messed up stats regularly.

I find Britney, Rihanna and Beyonce's hard to believe. Is this including streaming?

I need a damn breakdown.

Album sales + music DVD Sales + 1.5/10 digital single sales + 1/3 physical single sales + 1/11750 YT Insight views + 272/157 Spotify streams x 1/1500

All of the standards were introduced by IFPI except 1.5/10 digital single sales. He increased the weight of digital singles after doing a study on how iTunes basically destroyed the market.

No AKB, No Utada, no B'z. Inaccurate list.

They’re still adding acts. And I believe Ayumi will be first since she seems to be mentioned the most.

Also, a side note - AKB48 isn’t one act.

This is just US right? But even if it is, it feels like a huge chunk of sales are missing from a lot of artists. What is this mess chartmasters :rip:

This is globally. And these aren’t record sales, these are album equivalents.

There’s literally a section to ask for whichever act you want. It’s not his fault people wanted Lorde.

Shakira was updated 6/21/18. She passed Enya and Madonna in Latin America years ago.

Pure album sales are still the same as the ones the stans have been using. Madonna remains the top album seller.

It still makes part of these "rankings" inaccurate since people who should be there are absent from it. Meghan, for example, should have made it if Lorde did. I'm not saying the numbers he did get are wrong but this list definitely is

Oh, of course. He updates the list pretty frequently and never claims it’s completely finished. In fact, they’re the exact opposite - they’re always re-examining stats and readjusting so their charts change frequently.

It's not a definitive ranking, it's just a compiled list based on the artists he has analysed. Chill, there's plenty of artists way bigger than Meghan that have yet to be analysed - Elvis for starters. :rip:

Ok? So I'm just saying its inaccurate, it will become accurate when he analyzes everyone that should be on here

And you were a Meghan "stan" before you changed your name so no need to get brave

It is not inaccurate. Nobody said it was a definitive or completely thorough list. You mistakenly inferred that :rip:
