No label push before Warner + Madonna unfortunately suffers from the whole "cringe to listen to" thing rooted in homophobia and misogyny which a lot of other legacy artists don't get. I think he means the song is not as remembered now as how big it was in 2000. It was one of the biggest songs of 2000. Spent 10+ weeks at #1 on most European radio charts but it barely has 100m streams now It gets less daily streams than even Sorry or Human Nature which weren't really smashes

Please Mariah has only a handful of WW smashes that were hits everyhwere whereas most of Rihanna's hits were hits everywhere. It's a genre thing mostly.

When will ATRL understand that they are just getting old Every generation on the planet has said the same about every form of entertainment once they grow out of it. It is just human nature to think things were at their best during your younger years. You are no longer the target demographic for pop music. I can guarantee you there are plenty of teens and early 20s pop stans gagging over Sabrina, Olivia, Katseye, etc.
