    (80 + 80 + 80 + 80 + 80) / 5 = 84?

Deserved. She is just incredible. We are far from the MDNA/Rebel Heart/Madame X debacle now...

and some opinions weight more than others!

even if some reviews weigh more than others if all scores are 80 it should still be 80

Metacritic's mysterious math never ceases to amaze me

They didn't give 8/10, they gave 4/5 stars which metacritic translates to their own scores

That's not how it works. The scores are weighted against every possible reviewer, not only with the ones that already gave their score.

So if one reviewer always gives high scores and another one always gives low scores, an 80 will be counted as something lower than 80 for the first one and something higher than 80 for the second one.

riggory! I like it!

I´m sorry but this album deserves at least 90+.

Her best album in 20 years.

That's actually fascinating. So they're weighted against their own average so to speak.

They gave very high scores when they revisited her albums

WAKE UP EVERYONE! THE ACCLAIM CONTINUES! 4.5 from Slant, 4 from Rolling Stone, 4 or 4.5 from PEOPLE and Variety, 8.1 from Pitchfork (gave Madam X a 4.8). She's at 84 with 7 reviews.

Important to note most of the reviews are equal to or higher than the OG Confessions. Including Rolling Stone which gave C1 3.5.

8.1 from Pitchfork is very good, no?

They gave OG confessions a 6.2 and Madame X a 4.8
