All great pop artists have some form of rivalry with another pop girl once they make it big enough. Charli XCX stands out as the underground diva who eventually rose to prominence, specifically with her 2024 LP Brat.

However, something Charli XCX probably didn't expect is to meet angst from Taylor's fanbase, the Swifties. All of this began after her song "Sympathy is a Knife" was released. Charli fans said the song was about not feeling adequate enough and constantly comparing herself to someone like taylor swift. However, Swifties took some of the lyrics in the verses a step further. While the chorus is about how she feels, Swifties noticed that the verses had a story to tell. Specifically, a story that happens to draw parallels between the time Swift was dating Matty Healy. For example, "This one girl taps my insecurities", "Don't wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend's show Fingers crossed behind my back, I hope they break up quick".

Taylor allegedly responded with "Actually Romantic". In reality, this is a lot more "closed doors" tier beef that probably won't be confirmed for a while.

That's only one example of beef Charli XCX had with someone.

Here is a list of people Charli XCX has might have had public issues with.

• Sky Ferreira - heavily implied that Charli was recording her old songs earlier this year. Charli had no response and let management do the talking.

• Rina Sawayama - called out Matty Healy for racism and misogyny, Charli XCDthen unfollowed Sawayama and they've no longer been seen together/interacted since

• Camila Cabello - Charli took a friendly jab at her I Luv It sound in a Tick TOck comment, after vicious stans said that it sounded like her style of hyperpop and her song I Got It during her C XOXP rollout, which was filling her comments with hate

• Lorde - Charli said she was very jealous of her at one point due to their similarity in appearance. Eventual reconciliation via Girl so Confusing.

• Marina - Familiar froot moment. "everyone wants a familiar fruit moment or whatever" Marina said that they reconciled after Girl so Confusing.

• FKA Twigs - Fans said Von Dutch and other tracks in the album were about her, and Charli infamously posted a pic of her showing off her passport after FKA had visa issues during her initial Eusexua tour, which resulted in the half the US leg to get cancelled. However they now have a collab together in the film MOther Mary.

absolutely accept the premise of this, charli is deeply messy and picks fights everywhere that she doesn't need to have, the response from her fans over actually romantic is hilariously short sighted

Idk why but Charli doesnt have a strong negative/dark vibe. For some reason her messiness does not appear very offensive or dislikable to me at least. Her vibe is cool and I think it's because everything she does or say does come from authenticity. She does not try too hard on everything.

out of all the examples mentioned the only one to be taken seriously is the Rina one... that was 100% shitty on Charli's part and I continue to side-eye her for it to this day

Taylor is the biggest star in the world, 95% of the time she gets dragged into beefs because people know that dropping her name will bring them headlines. The past weeks alone Eli and Zara did the same thing.

Most of theses were started by the other artists first

I would never say Taylor is innocent so what I really care about was the Rina situation. What she did was coldblooded and unnecessary.

Everyone but delusional s*ifties know that t*ylor is the real problem, in so many aspects.

She's a bully, a narcissist, can't take ANYTHING remotely negative said about her, and her greed is quite literally at biblical levels. She's horrible. I truly was once a fan as folklore and evermore were fantastic, but now she's releasing disgusting generic slop as well, and has been for the last few years. Truly abhorrent.

Charli releases great music and has created a persona that might get some people riled up, but I love her.
