Just finished my first full listen and I love it! That Girl, Kiss, Right Now, I Don't Care, Hot Tubs are early faves WAP so many bops. And she sounds amazing! Ms Tyla did it again clap3

So what's your verdict?

I'd say her debut album is better. This project wasn't horrible but it feels uninspired and something that she pushed out to fulfill her contract lol.

I agrih with whoever said that she needs to go the Rihanna route and invest in writing camps. Tyla honestly just needs the right material to take off.

I've sat with this and had a few listens and - I kinda get the reaction. It's not that it's a bad album - the music is okay. But that's the exact problem. I think firstly when your debut is that great! And then you have a really GREAT ep with tunes like Mr Media and In my opinion I loved Bliss - I never get the negativity towards it - it sets high expectations. On top of all of that you name an album A*Pop and as an artist who has been boxed into simply the Afro category - now dropping songs that seem to lead towards producing a more POPcentric ERA - to prove you're more than just "AFROPOP//AFROBEATS." And then most of the songs are chill midtempos that don't really produce any massive pop choruses - it's confusing. The tracklist ing doesn't help. She essentially Radically Optimised herself -maybe not even on purpose - but when I think modern day pop - we think Sabrina,Tate,Billie,Addison - really big choruses or if not that super hypnotic ones - which Tyla has been capable of. Overall it's not a bad album - the marketing and the way she spoke about it - really didn't help the album

If this was 2008, the Japanese CD rip would have leaked before the album even came out tbh weeps

The album is meeehhhh, its a collection of cute beats but very flat, yes listenable but anything memorable

people's opinions on social media are really irritating me "WE STILL DON'T KNOW WHO TYLA IS" ***** literally who gives a **** about who Tyla is, I personally couldn't care less about whatever childhood traumas she has I just want fun music for the summer, not everything has to be so deep my god rip

lol you're right ,there was probably some deadline attached to this. Maybe the label said the album has to be released within 1 year of the EP or we're shelving it ? toofunny3

The way my favorite song changes on each listen like….this might be skipless jonny

My definitive fave is Hot Tubs but there's so many sections of the album I love. I think 'Is It' oddly works as a great divider between the two sides in my head because I love the trio of intro songs, especially 'Kiss'. I already liked 'Is It' even tho I wish 'Mr. Media' made it on the album. But that run from 'Fairytale' - 'Hot Tubs' is something lethal especially the 'Fairytale - Right Now' section and the last three songs jonny

I'm sorry, I have just become more and more obsessed with this album, it's right behind Kelela when talking about my favorite albums this year.

i'm already so annoyed at the consensus that this is awful, people just don't know how to think for themselves

as if everyone on twitter or here are Tyla fans? the people who didn't care about her have no problem with screaming how bad this is...

i'm not a stan just a very casual fan and have no problems with this release, she already got the hit Chanel and hopefully the next album will be executed better

The hilarious part is that you can so obviously tell how success-minded most of these people are. If this exact album had been released back when Chanel was smashing, over half of these people hating it would be stanning it and calling it AOTY sabrina

Ntm because I still don't think this album was as horrible as y'all were saying it is lmao. It's cute but isn't better than her debut.

You guys calling this horrible got me so scared, I was expecting a terrible listening esperience…I found it nice, some fillers, but cute overall

Some real cute bops per usual with Ms. Tyla. I really like her voice.
