I don't necessarily think it's over, a lot of people probably won't care and will still stream their music or go to their shows regardless, but the negative online discourse surrounding the group could become even more intense. And if it continues to seem like she was ousted and there's no clear official statement, they'll have to deal with many people (including media outlets that have already touched on this) making accusations of mistreating a Black woman that likely won't go away.

This parasocial take - it's giving those Manon stans writing conspiracy theories on Twitter and Reddit. Maybe she doesn't want to leave KATSEYE? Have you considered that? You've been spent years dragging Normani for not caring about her music, but ready to stan Manon as an influencer. K-pop stans are so hypocritical.

Manon definitely doesn't want to leave KATSEYE - that much is very obvious. In her first public statement, she pushed back against the hiatus and said the situation feels out of her control. In earlier interviews from this year, she also talked about how excited she is for 2026, the band, and performing at Coachella.

As for her long-term goals, whether in music, acting, or modeling, she understands the bigger picture. KATSEYE gives her visibility, resources, and opportunities, and stepping away from the group would likely mean losing some (if not all) of that momentum.

While Manon is my personal favorite, I don't think there's a clear breakout star in the group right now or at least it's too early to tell. With Fifth Harmony, Camila was being positioned as a soloist from the very beginning, getting the most lines and screen time from their first EP.

With KATSEYE, it feels more intentional that all the members are blended together, almost like they're meant to sound and come across as one cohesive unit. Because of that, I think Manon, and really any member, needs more time in the group to develop a distinct audience that will follow them beyond the group. At this point, I'm not sure any one member has that level of individual pull beyond the group as a whole.

However, I do think tensions must be high.

Whatever happened behind the scenes had to be significant... big enough to pull her from Coachella, the current single, and possibly even an upcoming EP, while still including her in magazine features that were shot in advance. It doesn't seem like the kind of decision HYBE would make on a whim or without previous warnings.

There's clearly some kind of tension between her and management. I don't know how much control HYBE actually has over the group, but whatever's happening behind the scenes doesn't feel right. If she had just come out and said she needed time for her wellbeing, it probably wouldn't have sparked this much speculation. And then on top of that, she's unfollowed Missy Paramo, their own manager, which just makes it all look even more questionable.

No, that was actually so gag worthy when HYBE said she was taking time away for her "health and wellbeing" and Manon replied being like "actually I'm fine"

I don't know if Manon returns. Her removing KATSEYE from her bio and unfollowing Missy feels more definitive, which is really sad.
