It's very obvious from Manon's statement that a: the issue is between her and the label, and b: the solution is still being discussed.

It's also obvious that she's being mistreated, and if there was no public backlash, who knows whether anything would still even be up for discussion. As they gear up for a new release, it's natural that fans want more than having to read between the lines of an extremely vague statement that doesn't really address anything concretely. Given the speculation surrounding whether she'll be at Coachella or not per example, the least they could do is respond to the outlets asking them for comment and say either, "She won't be making any appearances until we announce that her hiatus is over" or "She's out of the group" to end the uncertainty

I love Manon and want her back, but all the "only care about Manon, **** the others" comments are... kinda weird, lol.

This is why I have such an issue with kpop fans. The only definitive statement Manon has given is that she feels supported. kpop fans want their narratives to be true so badly that they will ignore the artist themself saying the opposite. You want to call her statement vague and not concrete, but also want to bulldoze every definitive statement made in it.

Discussions are ongoing, it would be extremely unprofessional of either party to lay out their demands publicly as the definitive statement on what is going to happen. All we know is that there is a visible breakdown in communication between Manon and HxG about this hiatus, and that in spite of that, both parties are discussing things amicably.

There hasn't been any definitive statement made about it (except for the initial one that she'd be going on a hiatus "to focus on her health and well being" which was then quickly invalidated when she stated that she was perfectly healthy but alas) and the evidence is that one of the many interpretations to her most recent one was "oh she's launching solo with them!" But so you could interpret from her statement that it's very obvious the issue is between her and the label, and if you could deduce that, then you also understood that the hiatus was out of her hands, that's not mistreatment to you?

It wouldn't be unprofessional at all to address public concern and simply say whether she should be expected to make an appearance or not. And these aren't just Twitter stans asking, legitimate publications contacted them to know as well... this has been going on for over a month now, and they aren't addressing it because they clearly are unprofessional, if this entire shady hiatus situation wasn't enough for you to get that.

Oh so you're just not up to date and flapping gums about a situation you're uninformed on. There's always bandwagoners at the scene of the crime when kpoptwt cries mistreatment. Manon is updating us as much as she can and will share news when she has news to share.

I am up to date, you're the one being purposely dense for some reason. I was acknowledging that statement when I said

So you're aware that Manon is happy and healthy and feels supported by HxG and will update us all as soon as it's feasible to, but you're still talking like this and calling others dense?

Thank you for proving my point about kpop fans and their imaginary narratives taking precedent over real statements from the artist. Manon has been missing schedules for her health since Dream Academy. There's a very simple and obvious explanation for why the corporation wanted her on an indefinite hiatus, and for why the group members might not want that, as well as for why Manon is still confident in her position despite all of this, either as a soloist or a group member. There isn't always a bogeyman and a victim.

Girl, whatever. If you want to ignore what's been happening and keep blindly defending these companies then keep doing that I guess.

(also idk why you keep saying "kpop fans" this and that when you've never seen me in a kpop thread before)

Eyekons are a kpop fandom and you're acting like a kpop fan. This whole ignore the artist and continue spreading the misinformation we were spewing before their statement is a pattern that repeats over and over in kpop.

It's a fan culture where criminal verdicts with all evidence in public record are still treated like part of a conspiracy if they don't align with what the fandom wants to believe.

I'm still fully delusional and expecting Manon to be in the video/in a teaser tomorrow rip
Like I'm sorry as a label idk why I would cut a member from a video "to prove a point... just to have her perform at Coachella like nothing happened

I don't see how this is ignoring the (swiss) artist in question when, if anything, it only puts pressure on the companies (both korean and american btw) now whether they even care is a different story.. I think the whole (global) entertainment industry is rotten and has historically mistreated artists often anyway so let's just agree to disagree

there's sadly no legit reason to believe she's gonna be at Coachella either aside from fans hoping that "it was her dream to perform at Coachella so surely they wouldn't do that to her" (this is obv assuming there's no real justification for her to be on hiatus/unable to work)

this was also so sweet from the Nylon article '(

"I love spending time on Pinterest," Megan says. She likes to make a new board to fit the energy of a new song. "I love spending time looking at pictures, looking at vibes, and creating worlds and picturing what kind of version I would be of myself in that world." Daniela digs for new artists and studies "fire choreo" that makes her want to move differently. Sophia and Lara go back to their pop awakenings: Miley Cyrus' "Can't Be Tamed" for Sophia and Kesha for Lara.

But Yoonchae is just inspired by Katseye itself.

"Once a week, I search 'Katseye' and I watch our previous videos and performances," she says. The rest of the girls smile warmly from their windows on the video call at Yoonchae's admission. "When I'm tired and when my fire is gone, and I see that video of us very on fire? I get inspired."
