Hello bump! This has got to be discussed 👏

I am bopping to Of Course I love the sarcy energy

West Memphis is gorgeous

I know she's made an intentional choice to go for this vibe but I miss her vocals

most of the album being quite lowkey makes things not stand out to me but will keep listening

Is it a surprise? Yes. Especially the tracks 5–8. But do I trust her vision? Absolutely, always.

Some initial thoughts/favourites (although I need more time to process everything, especially the lyrics):

• Alright (sonically this sounds like it's from the Brokeback Mountain soundtrack and a continuation to October Sky, an instant favourite and a discography highlight )

• Different Light (that chorus is genius, the way she just effortlessly plays with scales/modes... )

• Seven Years (probably the most Dawn-sounding song on the album, that voice we all fell in love with shines on this one; sonically it's like a developed One More Smile, which is next to Paranoia Purple my favourite on the album )

• West Memphis (if there's justice this will end up a staple on country radio stations worldwide)

• Forgiveness (make it a 3:50 min song now!!!)

• Aggressive (I am kinda annoyed by the vocal effect, but those 0:55–1:01 / 1:52–end bits (and the final 30s of Of Course)!!!)

• Earth, Wind & California (I am not yet on board with the first half, but the second half is fantastic!)

No one conveys emotions like her and I mean no one – sonically, vocally, lyrically. She deserves the world and I feel so lucky to be experiencing her music in real time.

Oh Yebba, the legend that you are. I listened to this three times on repeat.

The mellower tracks are absolutely stunning (the intro, hello????????); the fiercer tracks are fun and complete vibes.
This is just what I needed right now.

Let me start with expressing how much I've loved her debut album. It got me through losing both of my parents around the time it was released and I've been listening to it again these days after breaking things off with my boyfriend, especially listening to Stand. I was naturally super excited to be getting a new album from her. I've just finished the first listen of it and daaamn... My mind is blown even though it sounds like nothing I was expecting. I am totally surprised by the sonics of the album, especially the middle part as mentioned above me. I didn't know I needed the blend of country/folk-ish and alternative genres from her, but here we are! It suits her splendidly and sounds totally fresh. I cannot wait to give it a few more listens. Faves after the first listen: Forgiveness (needs to be at least twice as long), Yellow Eyes (I wasn't sure about this one when it was released at first, but it's sooo catchy), West Memphis, Delicate Roots, Seven Years, Different Light, Water and Wanderlust, but I was not disappointed or bored listening to any of the songs on my first listen. Yebba is a legend!

This is great. Early AOTY contender. Very unexpected sound in some of the tracks, it's much more indie and alternative.

Delicate Roots is early SOTY. Insane.

Finished listening. What a creative and unique album this is - truly pushing her artistry to new heights. She can expect another Grammy nomination for engineering - it's masterfully produced and mixed.

Definitely my AOTY this year so far.

After another listen, my top five is (lowkey, cannot decide which one of the top two I like more):
1. Delicate Fruit
2. Different Light
3. Seven Years
4. West Memphis
5. Water and Wanderlust

I enjoyed Waterfall, Seven Years, Different Light, and Yellow Eyes. I'm looking forward to hearing it live, much like with Dawn, because she brings more life to the song when she performs it in person.

There was a time I'd think Yebba was meant to be the new Adele. Boy was I wrong.

I think my favourite might be Different Light. Breathtaking.

I don't want to listen to anything else but Jean. She calms me down, she keeps me centered.

Earth, Wind, and California through Waterfalls is such an insane track run. I absolutely love this album and think it's a valid switch up from Dawn. Easily going to end up in my top 10 for the year.

i just discovered her so you can just imagine my shock, i love the album, its perfection, earth wind & california, west memphis and alright are my favorites
