Love the idea of art over chart but that placement just feels so wrong when I look at other contemporaries - Florence 6th record debuted at number 1, Paloma Faiths 6th record got debuted at 2, Leigh Anne got 3 and she was fully independent ffs even Anne Marie got 2 with her last record and that album was arguably horrendous (no offence I do enjoy her voice I just think too many cooks in the kitchen trying for Gen Z TikTok trends and also she's married to a r*pist aLlEgEdLy). Polydor deserve the electric chair at this point with how they treat female artists actually just artists in general

I agree I feel like the wind has been taken out from her sails a bit - with all of the changes business wise behind the scenes; new management, new publishing deal, it can only bode well for the future. I'm very ignorant though I have to keep reminding myself she is only 5/6 months post party and there needs to be grace given to that too. I think if she is leaving Polydor it would be a nice move to usher in the new era with EG7 but that's wishful thinking in my end lol
