One might say her painful averageness is in large part why she has been able to cultivate such unprecedented mass appeal.

I don't get it either, but I also don't get things like McDonald's, the television show Friends, or major league sports, but they're all runaway successes for whatever reason.

She perhaps doesn't wow you. She barely wows me. But she clearly wows enough ******* people to be THE global superstar of this decade, so why even make this post? All it does is make you look sad, pathetic and destined for a spiteful and lonely life. 😔

Taylor's unique talent is storytelling and describing love/loss/etc. in a way that's specific to her but also resonant to the average woman

I don't think it makes any sense to frame it like "Why is Taylor Swift famous when she doesn't do what Britney Spears or Mariah Carey does". They're in completely different lanes

There's nothing interesting about Taylor Smith and that's exactly why she's so relatable to the millions of white girls in America they feel like they are on her level, that they too can "command" a stage by wiggling around like her, that they too can literally sing like her or more likely, out sing her

No any other female artists are as basic as her that's why she's the most successful female artist of all time, perhaps the most successful music artist this century.
