Grammys were VERY clean cut image back then. Avril was more free spirited.

Les Moonves, CBS Head, probably pulled a lot of strings back in the day on who was considered a good image for Grammy winners.

Awful music she has cute singles but LBR. She'd have better luck in today's landscape considering they have awarded Taylor Swift with prestigious awards and Avril makes better music.

Avril imo had strong singles. But she never had strong albums as a whole. Plus I also think her brat persona she had was a turn off for a lot people in the 2000s. It allowed her to built a niche audience and give her 2 very successful eras but after 2007 you can tell people moved on and grew up out of that.

They always read her music as juvenile, though I lowkey expected HAW to get a nom.

It was up against Beautiful, and Christina was already a grammy darling at that point so it was never gonna happen.

It's a corrupt organization. Bjork has won 0 Grammys despite just about everyone copying her sound in the 90s to this day.

She has many of the Canadian equivalent. Which is what matters.

The Grammys didn't respect and understand the talent and hardwork of female pop singers. They've sold out to Gen Z and Millenials by staying relevant and getting ratings.

Times were a lot different back then. I feel like she would have had a much easier time these days with all the pop acts winning these days.
