I'm not sure why you want to be unnecessarily hostile and pretend not to understand what people talk about. Do you understand at least that not everyone is forced to share your or someone else's perspective and that people are formed by their experiences and can formulate their own views? It's especially hurtful when I as a Palestinian have been on the receiving end of xenophobia and bigotry and prejudice, and it should be acknowledged that someone from another culture is seeing something not from the same lense.

Idea: Self-expiring threads.

Sometimes I have a kink to get dragged on here but can only tolerate the lashings for a few hours. Then I suddenly want my thread locked to avoid further backlash. I think it would be cool if we could set a timer to lock our own threads if we choose to do so. Some topics get stale and dragged out way too long.
