Obviously not the same thing because the locked thread was bringing attention to Taylor's immaturity and making fun of it (which we do a lot with pretty much every artist here), where as the other thread is more or less a TS base/album thread. Moderators should try to be impartial and not super touchy/feely about their faves. That particular mod is especially guilty of it

The way she's teasing it.. the same way she's been doing it since she was a teenager. It's not ok to make fun of it? Why was @Dear Reader so touchy about it? Pretty sure he wouldn't have closed the thread if it was about Katy Perry or Xtina. I've seen so many Taylor threads closed by that one mod for absolutely no reason. Maybe at least try to keep the pretence of neutrality.
