Positives:

• DWP2 is tracking to have a pretty strong opening weekend in the US

• SOAW apparently gets an actual scene in the movie (unlike HMH being just a credits song)

• Michael apparently made Bobby take a playlisting Masterclass after 2022 so her team will likely get NMF and TTH playlisting on Spotify.

• I think DWP2 > Wednesday 2 in terms of success/viewership/cultural moment

Negatives:

• The snippet has a polarizing reaction amongst the fans

• If the movie gets negative reviews or ends up front loaded, it lessens the odds of SOAW doing well.

• Songs with a feminist slant don't seem to become huge hits as of late

Unknowns:

• We don't know when the song is going to be released (so help me god if they do another horseshit midweek release)

• Will there be a MV?

• Is the movie going to be reviewed well/have good legs?

• Will SOAW end up on Mayhem? (Honestly it should, unless it ends up being a massive smash. Then put it on LG8).

I'm going to say we should wait and see (I still remember everyone in here hating Shallow when it first came out. We all saw what happened there). Most of the things that will determine if it succeeds or not haven't come into existence yet. But I'm hoping that Gaga's team sets the song up for success by giving it a smart release date with appropriate playlisting and radio adds.

Also I have a feeling that DWP2 is going to be a more domestic-heavy movie vs a global one. So I think the release of SOAW should be optimized for its US chart performance
