Her looks doesn't really fit MAYHEM at all imo, it feels like the start of something new.

They were pretty much still in the Mayhem aesthetic tho? She was still the lady in red with a hat, the hair is super similar to Abracadabra, the makeup was basically a 1:1 recreation of one of the alternative album covers and the bird stuff appears in the tour as well by the end giraffe

The one thing that could've helped was a release of Coachella/Copacabana on Netflix during voting period. That might've gotten her a GF. But no use crying over spilt milk... The truth is Gaga's campaign was above and beyond anyone else's. The effort she put in was just leagues above. Kendrick did nothing, and Billie Eillish's campaign consisted of bribing BB100 to get Wildflower more weeks on the chart than it should technically be allowed. Bad Bunny did some stuff here and there but nowhere near the effort Gaga put in.

I just hope this doesn't discourage her. Who knows, she might end up winning with a lowkey campaign for different reasons anyway!

It doesn't feel like there's any point or incentive to record more music videos or release singles from Mayhem. Getting Requiem at all feels like a bonus and a surprise.

If she's working on new music it makes sense that she pours her energy into that instead.

I wonder how far along she is in the creative process for her next project. It's kind of crazy to think we started this era with her saying that after MAYHEM she wanted to get married and start a family right away, and now she already seems to have new things lined up to keep her busy again. rip

I didn't even realise Mayhem was nom for pop vocal let alone win

Glad to see Gaga's talent recognised … so many artists get awards and they don't even have vocal talent skull

I think a lead single late this year or early next year is a big possibility. But she might scrap it all who knows.

I genuinely think Gaga is happy with any GRAMMY tbh. I know she'd love a GF, but as soon as she wins one, I really don't think she's bothered much. The only time she seemed genuinely bothered was the time she walked away with zero (for BTW.)

Granted, I still want one, even if she needs to release ARUTW or MR 2.0 in 5 years to get it.

Yeah I just don't want it to get to her, because she's so inspired, and I want her to keep going. But maybe I'm just overthinking. The noms themselves were impressive.

I was upset last night but then woke up today and was like. This ***** has 16x GRAMMYs and I remember arguing with people when I was 13 who said she'd be a one hit wonder.

sabrina

She's a "girl that's gonna be ok" and we should be proud of her.

She kind of tanked her own chances in general field by not releasing Vanish Into You as the third single. That is literal Grammys bait but also a well-loved song that would have kept the whole era afloat too.

She is her own worst enemy when she tries too hard to be popular with the GP (The Dead Dance, Joker 2) instead of trusting her natural talent, which in this case was right there.

It also probably doesnt help that Mayhem kind of ends with a thud of a final 3 tracks. I always turn it off after SoaM.

That said, MAYHEM is incredible and she has been working so hard. She deserved general field and thats what matters. So proud to stan this legend.

I hate to say it, but I genuinely think SOTY / AOTY could have gone differently if VIY had been released as a summer single…

I think logistically it won't happen just because she'll have to do the mandatory celebrating Grammys post + post her performance. So it won't be good for engagement. Unless she opts for a Harlequeef spam strategy.

You can feel Parris mega talented directing eye on the performance. I hope they keep working together for next era.

Good morning to Perfect Celebrity which is now officially a Grammy-winning masterpiece

I get what are you saying but I personally don't see it at all, it feels at best an evolution but if we go with any of her looks for the mayhem era they don't really match the vibe of yesterday.

Also a lot of crows, black feather references

Now I love you all but let's not pretend the base didn't practically yell at her to not make Vanish Into You a single during release week when she had all intentions to do so. Now, the fans came around the track pretty shortly and it became one of the most loved songs on the album and we have been asking for a video since Summer, but we all asked her to drop the song and keep supporting Abracadabra and (ijbol) Garden of Eden back then.

Tomorrow then for a Thursday release eli

The performance was soooooooooooooooooo good. I cannot get enough of that remixed post-chorus. She was made for gnarly bass slides and disco guitar. It's crazy because the studio version is so different but so addictive as well. The outfit. The poses. Ugh.
