I don't have any expectations she'll attend anymore. This feels like an easy and perfect opening for her to pretend she cares for 5 minutes.

Aside from Gaga, another factor in TDWP2's success is the full blessing of Anna Wintour and the fashion industry itself.

Many people from the fashion industry made cameos in this movie. (Marc Jacobs, Donatella, Tina Brown, Vanessa Friedman, Naomi Campbell...just too many)

Gaga was the cherry on top, of course.

It's ironic because in the first movie, a lot of designers and industry people were hesitant because they were afraid of Anna

Exactly, and she was quite dismissive about Lauren as well, but Anna is pragmatic, so her approach to it changed gradually.

The Movie is basically what happened to Condé Nast + Vogue when Si Newhouse passed away and the conversion to content vs print.

Gaga being in it is fitting because she's intertwined with the industry as a collaborator, patron, muse, and industry leader as well.

Aside from Gaga, we have Rihanna and Beyoncé to an extent.

Glamorous Life was supposed to be used for Miranda's Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II scene with "montage of the first movie and her work at the magazine" but they figured using 3 Gaga songs in the span of 10 minutes wouldn't work well.. At some point it was that or Runway scene and they went with Runway scene which unfortunately means that Glamorous Life got cut.. - Just so we're precise - Runway scene would have stayed anyways but they wouldn't have used Runway (the song) for that one.
