No, thank you

Oh and Bruno saying „no matter what…" in the beginning of runway is very cringe. He sounds wet & compressed.

I agree with the first part but def. not the second. Abracadabra peaked low but it did well on US. It charted for 20 weeks, her strongest solo dance pop single since Applause. If ROM warranted another MV, Abracadabra did even more. ROM was a #1 but Abracadabra felt like a bigger cultural moment and did more for her brand.

It had more to do with the general difficulty getting post album singles to catch on, how busy she was and how the album was doing with the show's alone. And also the lack of general industry interest in doing music videos nowadays.

I mean, I do think the lack post release singles in the biggest factor, but Interscope is going to want an ROI on an expensive single campaign to warrant investing in other singles to promote the album. It's a lot more complicated than that (because the artist can also veto release of additional singles), but regardless the label probably wanted a higher peak given how much they invested in the video, promo, etc.

Ultimately, I just want more videos lol forget singles, but her legacy should be immortalized visually just as much as through music and tours. I'm a greedy liddo who always wants more jonny

I'd rather have this outcome tbh

This outcome includes Glamorous Life also not ever getting a video and all of her management leaving her in 2 months plus a jazz album with Tony Bennett in 2027 and a country album in 2028

I think it's a fun and mindless bop and it's clearly struggled to connect with audiences so far but I really don't mind that it bombed.

My problem lies more with the rollout. Why the 3 week advanced drop with no radio deal? And if the mv was in fact coming today then why no prior announcements? And we got that tea from... UMG Germany newsletter? suburban

Easily the worst single rollout of her career. I didn't think her team could botch it more than HMH but they manage to outdo themselves every time.

To be fair, it's quite obvious they released it because it's in the trailer they released 3 weeks ago, it's the name of the magazine in the movie which they've released copies of, and they've used it at every red carpet and on almost every social media ad since its release. It's a promo single for the movie, that's why it's been released early without much direct promo from Gaga. The movie's team 'released' the song imo, not necessarily Gaga's team.

Gaga's team are likely waiting for the movie to be released, so they can capitalise on the attention with the two solo soundtrack songs and release Requiem at the peak of the GP interest.

I feel like Mastercard funded a lot of Abracadabra and its initial promo. Still, it was a global top 10 for months - Abracadabra, its video, and the cultural reset it ushered in for the Mayhem era more than paid for itself anyway.

I'm sure in Gaga's eyes, the Art of Personal Chaos and the number of performances she's done are the era's visuals. The Dead Dance was paid for by Netflix, and Die With a Smile made the era a monumental success before anything else was released anyway.
