I love what she's doing with cecred, finally a clear concise Beyonka brand that makes sense and serves quality

Lowkey we were in the trenches with Ivy park we were treating them like album eras with the videos she would drop. Now we're lucky for any visual actually, I took it for granted

that said, I'm glad she's doing Cecred instead. She seems to care a lot about it and they seem to be doing very well and serving quality. I'm curious about the restoring hair drops..

oh i lived in ivy park over the pandemic. the hoodie/sweatpants sets are so high quality and comfortable. i didn't really go for the insane trendy items, but the classic athleisure stuff is great.

cecred is also great. i use it and it makes my hair very easy to detangle and manage without breakage. and it smells great. the drops i hear work miracles! if B is gonna do one thing its serve quality!

Yep, very happy with Cecred.

Proof, I guess, that sometimes it takes a few swings of the bat to hit a home run.

She has good people steering, too. Like, in terms of the brand's CEO and other key figures.

I like the strategy as well. As a celeb-led brand, the expectation would be to go big and splashy from the jump. But they instead went the Direct-to-Consumer way, built up a base, and then went to retail. So, there's at the very least an established audience for whom going to Ulta and now Space NK becomes more about convenience than just discovery.

It also just makes the most sense for her brand. Her hair is a big part of her image and her aesthetic allure. So, "selling" it makes a ton of sense. They've hit the mark with the branding, the messaging, and the proof of concept.

Ivy Park will always irk me because it actually had potential. But I think a few things messed it up. Overall, I feel like it was always a good-but-underdeveloped idea. I don't think she ever really fleshed out what she wanted it to be. Its first run honestly felt like "just another celeb brand" or something she was advised to do because athleisure was a popping category (remember the Peleton buzz?) For the logo to simply be slapped onto hoodies and leotards, and that was...it? For a whole Beyonce? C'mon. The adidas reboot was exciting, and I appreciated the effort, especially the pivot to capsule drops. But it arrived at the exact time she was at her least promo-active. She was also hella inactive in a stage capacity, so it just felt random af timing-wise and somewhat unbelievable.

Odd to some, but I actually wouldn't mind an Ivy Park revival at some point lol (as it makes more sense for her brand than SirDavis). But I think she ought to harness her learnings from the adidas run and lean into what has worked from Cecred. She HAS to integrate it into her work. Being a dancing artist who shoots videos and goes on tour, only to seldom feature the line in her work (her organic biggest promotional vehicle), doesn't make sense.

IMO, all she'd need to do is carve out an authentic personal story (e.g., getting into stage form ahead of a tour), decide if she wants to go niche (so, d2c or teaming with a small, buzzy brand) or whether it's big and splashy again (thus pairing up with an adidas alternative like Nike, Puma, or Lululemon), and centralize it in her main-line "Beyonce" output (music videos, tours, BTS).

BTW, only interested in this if it comes after Act III. Because without typing another essay lol, I think another reason some of her side hustles underperform is... timing. Pushing other ish when all we wanted was new music wasn't ideal IMO. Then finally dropping new music/visual (content lol) only to still not center the brand was also odd af. To me, her extracurricular activities are best positioned to thrive when either: arriving on the heels of a huge era (so, audience are already super charged and want to savor as much "Beyonce" as they can) or within an era (again, when audience is super charged and excited).
