also visited the tower records store where she went during CC and all they had were a couple B'day 20th anniversary vinyls, and two CC vinyls (one of which was a Beyincé variant in the clearance bin rip)

My mom passed away last week. I know I mentioned her wanting to hear a Beyonce rock album as she has anticipated it for years, and I'm so sad she didn't get to hear it before she passed (if that's wha

in all honesty that must have been very stressful. I'm intrigued to see if she'll fly less in act iii's tour, considering the last time she flew she whacked her knee and this time ended up almost falling while having to pretend to lip sync!

The brands that succeed don't try to be too crazy.

Yeezy. Jessica Simpson. Savage x Fenty. Beats by Dr Dre. Skims. They're just... things you use.

Something happened in 2021-2023 era IVY PARK where they just went off the rails.

They tried to sell a bunch of crazy ass items (including cheap ass PVC "joggers").

They tried to Beyoncé-fy the brand too much. . . but the truth is, no one can rock those outfits outside of a photoshoot or a concert/music video. Thus, losing her core audience.

She should just revive House of Deréon and make that the vehicle for fashion, while IVY PARK remains athleisure/sportswear.

I agree with most of this.

I don't think Ivy Park fundamentally knew what it wanted to be.

In its first run, standard athleisure seemed to be the aim. Which, basic as that kinda was, actually served the purpose of what you wrote. A brand centered around everyday use (gym and fitness wear, with a touch of fashion appeal).

However, the "story", partner (Euro-focused Topshop), branding ("where is your park", wtf?), and push were not it.

The reboot with adidas, again to your point, still didn't solve what it wanted to be. I guess with adidas' established footprint, there was scope/desire to branch out into more - like sneakers and outright fashion. But, in being far removed from the original idea (are we doing fashion or athleisure, not to mention does any of it truly at its core give/represet...Beyonce?), I feel it again lost its way. Maybe a lot of this wouldn't have mattered, and it still could have been a success with more push from her, but she didn't, so that's that, I guess.

Maybe conjecture, but I really feel Bey has a little PTSD from some of her public missteps when it comes to her non-musical ventures. Hence, the pivot with Cecred, which deffo soft-launched and took a d2c, brick-by-brick approach.

So, while I'd love to see her go big and splashy again with a partner like Nike for Ivy Park's third attempt lol, I'd equally like it to take the Cecred approach of being either hella small-scale initially with an incremental build from there or a get-it-while-you-can capsule rollout that she actually integrates into her work. Both allow for the brand to live on without being super commercial-focused or judged as "another Beyonce thing that didn't work".

If she ever relaunches IVY PARK, it should be Under Armour. They're the only ones not going under at the moment (have you seen Nike's stock failing lately). They know their core audience. Their logistics are tightly-run. And they're popular in the football and personal fitness scene. There's so much she can do with this brand, it's insane. . .

Even Dr. Dre's Beats is now catering to sports and fitness with their headphones. And Dre doesn't even have to do anything but collect checks because Apple does all the work. IVY PARK should've been that if they wanted to branch out. That's more in line with Beyoncé's other work (music), plus Adidas themselves were already making headphones anyway. So it wouldn't have felt unnatural . . and it wouldn't derail from the 'core' athleisure wear because they don't compete with those products directly.

Anyway . . .

Imagine saying this. ENOUGH of the endless business ventures. She should revive being a visual artist, how about that? You know, the thing she was lauded as in the 2010s?

The more we ask for what we want, the more she doesn't give it. . . so I'm just gonna keep asking for what I don't want and hopefully that makes her think, "AH! They want more clothes, huh?" and decide to be rebellious and not give us clothes but a full visual album lol
