Stop with the copium.

Bey is best on her own when she doesnt need to restrict herself in order to "let others shine".

Imagine Mozart or Beethoven tying themselves to another artist? Cmon now.

Jay will never, ever, ever, ever be anything more to Bey than cute decor on a track or so. I take the cute rapverses he writes for his wife, but again - that only works well because its limited to a track or two. Anything more is a DISGRACE to Beys potential. Stay at home grandpa. Stop the shite.

Now sista he is the GOAT of rap and single-handedly revamped Linkin Park's career and changed the landscape of rap with his rock collab album. I wouldn't mind him on Act III if he brings it like on this song.

Ranking her surprise musical drops:

Initial excitement: Beyonce > Lemonade album >>>>>>>> EIL > Sorry (demo) > Donk > Grown Woman

After a week: Beyonce > Lemonade album >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sorry (demo) >>> Don-key Don-key Donk >>>>>>>>>> EIL (hated all but Summertime) >>>>>>>>>>>>> HELL >> Grown Woman (stopped caring after 12 hours tbh)

He was 35 at the time aka in his prime, he is almost 60 now. No one, and i mean NO ONE, cares for a billionaire grandpa putting out Rap Music.

Bey is still in her mid 40s, has phenomenal vocal qualities + a surplus on creative energy. A billionaire GRANDPA with an inflated ego is only restricting her.

I honestly think they rushed it out due to the contention about a second OTR tour without even any music support.

Same I feel like there's a version of a collab album that feels way more expansive and sonically adventurous. EIL didn't really take us anywhere new from either of them. It felt like a hip-hop Jay Z album featuring Beyonce even though she had way more leads. That's not inherently a bad thing but I think when the collab album has been speculated legitimately for 5 years it felt very y underwhelming. Aldo considering it had 1 video and barely any tour performances made it even more lackluster. I remember conversation around the tickets moving way slower than OTRI so I really think that was the main motive for EIL.

Speaking of OTR/EIL, did we ever found out if this is a legit track or...? I remeber it got leaked some years ago before the whole AI mass craze, still "she" sounds weird to me on the track, yet i hear their voices (plus the track is kinda a bop)

The concept of them thinking 713 would move tickets...

You could tell that EIL was quickly thrown together, so that they could have sumn to play at the tour (and they still missed the deadline nnn).

You're all fooling yourselves if you think a well-planned, polished, and carefully crafted Jayoncé album wouldn't live up to her usual standards.

do the rest of you remember when they refused to sing apesh*t for like 5 weeks after they dropped the album and then they finally caved and did it really sloppily at the end of a show with 0 choreo and then they also did Summer sitting down on a step really awkwardly too rip

I really wonder how Die with You would be doing on streaming if it was available everywhere…

The Friday update (which we'll get on Saturday) will be so good

Literally...

The fleshed out set during the latter run was much better. That was easily one of her tours with the most revisions from start to finish sans MCSWT which got a whole rehaul post ST.

She really paid Europe dust during OTRII & RWT, maybe thats why they got so much extra for CCT.

y'all keep bringing up that ancient linkin park song meanwhile his old ass hasn't made a good song since obama's last term. give it up deelishis

They're really pushing it. This B'Day anniversary is one of the most unpredictable things she's done in a long time.

"MORNING DEW (DONK)" has been added to Spotify's New Music Friday playlists in the following countries:

  • Australia and NZ (#1)

  • Philippines (#1)

  • Japan (#2)

  • China (#1)

  • Korea (#1)

  • Indonesia (#1)

  • Malaysia (#1)

  • South Korea (#1)

  • South Africa (#2)

  • Thailand (#3)

  • Vietnam (#6)

I wonder if it'll get added to TTH as well.

How do we go from celebrating the fact that she is remembering her old music, releasing new music, to predicting a Jayonce collab album for act 3? Very evil and dark sided energy happening. And we're pretending that it's a good idea? There is no war in Ba Sing Se

They also mentioned B'Day's charting position in Japan in the press release, and The Beyoncé Experience started in Tokyo… Maybe B'Day's reissue is trying to reignite some commercial potential in Asia before a global tour.

She needs to bring out the big guns and surprise-appear on some Filipino, Japanese, or Korean variety show to perform "Listen" in the next few months. That song has become a Asian talent show / karaoke staple, and might just be what the doctor ordered to sell out some Asian stadiums next year.

They said act iii is her most Chinese album to date

Donk was never intended to be a mainline single or receive that kind of push, but Team Bey have a history of pushing tracks they didn't plan on pushing because of the momentum it received online. Cuff It is a prime example. I think let's see if it continues to perform well! But tracks like Beys Before I Let Go have charted consistently and received zero support from Parkwood so…let's not hold our breath.

Tbf before I let go had a nice long run in the US.

this song sits in a weird space. It's already been viral so people aren't rushing to stream it like a new release, from both a GP and fan base point of view. I also fear lots of people gave up on it being on streaming in 2023 so aren't bothering to check this time. It's still showing signs of stability. I think the playlist exposure will obviously help it just depends on how people interact with it on the new playlists as to how it will impact the algorithm.

outside of Spotify though it's holding up really well.

Timing is everything and she chose a good time: nothing has become "song of the summer" on pop, rhythmic, or urban radio yet... and it's June. No big acts have released a smash. She might appear on radio (at least on 2/3 formats) simply because playlists for all three formats are desperate for fresh music from a big name.

Morning Dew (Donk) is expected to outpeak LG's latest lead single Disease (someone make that a thread when the chart is published, thank you)
