Valid points. Another thing that makes the tour films a mess is the excessive editing and trying to force fit a million outfits shots into the SAME SONG performance. I think Madonna does an amazing job with her tour editing to make it feel more like concert in video form.

Absolutely, this was what I meant with the editing and her losing that 'live' feeling.

I really hope we get it soon. My mom loves Beyonce, and her favorite genre is rock, she is SO excited. She just got diagnosed with terminal cancer, and I really hope she gets to hear the album while

What I love so much about B is the fact that you'll never see her tweet nonsense, have a meltdown about charts, sales or flop singles on social media and most importantly, waste her time being negative about someone just to make herself feel better. Lot of people call that lack of personality or whatever...when it's being smart and just being confident about yourself. Like why would I do all these things when I can just focus on my beautiful life, my family, my health, my businesses and just grow, become a better version of myself. This is why her Art is so much better today!

cuz her mama taught her better than that!!

No fr tho. Her mentality is very mature and strong and a big part of why she is still so successful and such a great artist. Her focus is on the right things. She's forever inspiring.

And 🖕Britney Spears for turning down the unreleased Renaissance visuals but joining that awful Elton John song. Some people reject Beyoncé to feel like they did something. Like that awful flop songwriter who turned down writing for her.

What songwriter lol?

Idk his name. Some gay black man tried to drop a bombshell on a podcast about turning her down her writers camp offer and get her dragged for stealing writers credit. I think I saw the story a month ago either on Reddit or LipstickAlley chile.

I hate when she mixes documentary footage with concert footage, I need one separate from the other. Plus the documentary part never shows me clips I want to see, I don't need to see her monologuing on a private jet about how tired she is and watch her eat the driest chicken I've ever seen... also it's very obvious when she films it during the day, so it takes me out of the concert when I see HD close ups with the sun reflecting in her sunglasses and cuts to night

Year of 4 is probably my favorite documentary, and revel is probably my favorite concert to watch since it's just a focus on the show and doesnt feature a lot of excessive editing

dont mind me asking, but who are those two and what does it have to do with B? Anybody with a netflix approved camera cannot excite us, even if they have worked with B in the past

Mason Poole is a longtime photographer of hers…

the real queen of diva concert films is Kylie - some of Madonna's releases have their own distracting editing even without the doco-bits interspersed
Kylie's are simple and clean, keep you feeling like you're there

she's also very prompt with the live album releases most of the time (which i know Bey never said/hinted we'd get any but still)

I don't think Britney did turn down those visuals - at least not for lack of interest or care. Bey's sampling of Toxic during RWT's Thique told me everything I needed to know on that front.

filming in the desert, more cowboy hats being commissioned…

This isn't an issue — she wore cowboy hats in over half of the unreleased Renaissance visuals too. It's a motif for the triiilogy era, nothing more!

As for the crew…guys…this is Beyoncé…why would they be posting BTS?? If you're gonna shoot with the Queen you're gonna have to sign a non disclosure

Mason Poole's entire career page is Beyoncé, does he even work for someone else?

Could be for an ad, could be for visuals, but something is happening. HOWEVER the stretch to say "netflix approved cameras" when Arri cameras are the industry standard across the board, they aren't just for netflix. Nearly every major production is shot on an arri branded camera

Beyonce sending exclusive pics is just more proof she is releasing this year. Fans and stans are in denial because they don't see her wearing leather or a new hair color.

The discourse here about Beyoncé's body. The outfits weren't her best, but she actually looks beautiful.

Whatever she does for the MET, there are going to be stupid complaints like we own her body or something…

You raise a very important point here! I think (lowkey) since Mrs Carter Tour (with the exception of OTR - which was cool in its own way and felt like a concert and Homecoming), B's 'tour' films struggle to capture the 'concert' magic and feel a bit lost between a documentary and concert film. She wants us to get some bts and her thoughts, and we love it, but the concert footage and structuring doesn't hit that 'concert' vibe and hype very well. Its a bit 'disconnecting' and for me it sucks cuz B performances are a big part of why I love her. When I see anything pre Mrs Carter, the films capture that hype and live magic (from editing to audience to continuity and the feeling of it being 'live') so much better!

her doing her own edits since iawt (another awful dvd release) is what makes them bad.

she tries to do some cinematic thing on them that doesnt work at all with concerts, specially with the whole bts between songs and the vintage filters and different aspect ratios rip gimme some clean screen feed with some new angles, 60hz refresh rate and the WHOLE SHOW, no cut, interludes, EVERYTHING, specially when you dont do shows in my city

the mrs carter tour/beyonce x10 were PERFECT. like, not over edited, yeah some footage wasnt that clean (probably from the screen feed) but it was good enough.

otr was awful im sorry, but it was the whole concert so i wont say much (jonas akerlund should stick to direct mv)

yet is not perfect since she decided to cut songs, edit the setlist and the color grading is kinda awful

edit:

this is raw footage from the show, but it seems she "pro" recorded another day for the dvd release + some new footage without public cause some close up are TOO clean on the release version
