100% behind this - but I wonder why we all ignore the fact that CC kinda drops the radio thing as of the Linda Martell interlude and actually incorporates a bit of live audio into it, and then finishes the album out with….alien and space sounds?

Always remember:

CC was supposed to be Act1, so the "alien"-ending fits as it leads into Renaissance.

And Renaissance ends with live applause, so theres reason to believe Act3 has that "live"-aspect to it.

This is something I thought about too: why the radio theme was dropped, but then I realized that popular country programmes like "The Grand Ole Opry" were broadcasts of live performances, and there were other variety shows like this, so we could still interpret "The Linda Martell Show" introducing a Beyoncé performance to still be something you'd hear if listening to the radio long enough.

It's actually a pretty brilliant, if not just very unique idea: a studio track that is pretending to be a live track.

TBH the radio theme is kinda what makes COWBOY CARTER a cohesive album. On first listen I was a bit confused at the switches in vibes, expecting a RENASSAINCE-style flow, but the feeling that you are listening to a country radio station at 2AM really solidified the approach, and then in the latter third of the album where she really starts ******* up the country genre's codes, each song begins to flow into each other...it's almost like a dream, like falling asleep at 3AM with the radio still playing...

My only wish is that the cuts should've been clean like Renaissance was. With Cowboy Carter, it's so sloppy. For example, the end of "Ya Ya" is actually cut off because it's tacked on at the beginning of "Oh Louisiana." That one also ends in the eagle mid-scream, leading to "Desert Eagle." This makes these songs impossible to put in playlists unlike Renaissance. I don't know why they did it like that but that's the only gripe I have with Cowboy Carter.

She'll begin to tease the new era at the Gold Party on Sunday.

ya when I first encountered this it was a bit shocking.

Beyonce can't be relatable because she is not basic lmao. Even Bey in Destiny's Child Circa 1997-2001 was not relatable. Stans relate to mediocrity. Bey can't go on interviews and be a shady ***** because the standards that have been put on her is high AF. Bey is luxury lmao.

Hopefully. I desperately need her to go hard in terms of the overall narrative of the trilogy ("He who controls the media controls the mind"), which couldnt be any more fitting than now.

It's clear she did not want to split the royalties from Ya Ya even more including another famous song or she didn't get the permission to use the song like that. I don't think the eagle at the end of Oh Louisiana is sloppy tho, Desert Eagle starts where it's supposed to and it'd be more jarring if it started with the eagle.

but DE start carries the eagle sound and its kinda awful

the cd version goes from flamenco to desert eagle without the eagle effect and sounds much cleaner
