A Bad Bunny Collab right now would guarantee an opening of 13mio+ streams, guaranteed. Literally the entirety of South America would tune in (including Brazil because of Bey) + the US + Europe. It would quite easily become her biggest opening because Bad Bunny is THAT huge atm

i've been saying that rando probably has legit tea. jay, coldplay, bad bunny and thundercat aren't the usual stan fantasy collabs (lbr, a random stan would've just said gaga, a tina turner hologram and tyla will be the features ). those other artists feel more legit since nobody wants jay on there, nobody's itching for chris martin either and thundercat is too niche for the average stan to know. bad bunny feels like this era's post malone so not far fetched either.

i'd definitely chop jay and coldplay and get rosalía and jack white instead

Jack White couldve very well produced a song without being a collab, so theres that. (Similar to Gary Clark Jr)

I assume the Jay collab will be reminiscent of his Linkin Park collab, so im fine with that, too.

Coldplay and Bey served one of her best collabs ever (HFTW), so I GLADLY take a CREDITED collab now as well.

It could easily be made up. She's been throwing P-Funk signs (even on her latest instagram post), and Thundercat is one of the few contemporary acts that has been praised by/has worked with George Clinton.

If she really pulled Coldplay (not just Chris) into her orbit, I'll have to give my kudos because that's an extremely rare feat. Except for "Something Just Like This" (which is on the Kaleidoscope EP) and two soundtrack songs, Coldplay have no collaborations outside their own albums in 29 years (!) of career.

She's been close with Martin for decades tho—he'd begged her for a collabs for years before she agreed to HFTW, and when she did say yes to that he turned his child's bedroom into a makeshift studio just to accommodate her. I like a lot of coldplays work but idk if it's necessarily impressive of Bey to get them on a song. It's more just that that she's a titan Martin adores

I'd say it has more to do with the other members. Jonny usually agrees with everything because he's experimental and has no filter (his pandemic playlists served Pitchfork gay to be honest), but Guy and Will are more picky. Things only go under the Coldplay name if all four (five) agree to it

I do think she's posting again to get her engagement up to prepare for the new era, though.

Do we think this could work for Bey?

IMO, this feels perfectly aligned with being another huge Bey moment.

• Lines up with Act III (Halftime is June, Met Gala is May)

• Her whole thing is "firsts" and "innovation"; this fits the bill

• She's literally friends with Chris Martin, so there's that.

Only things making me think otherwise are:

• She's big enough to do it herself and the notion of it being a curated multi-artist show doesn't seem like her bag. Still, if she tipped out for Super Bowl 2016 with Coldplay and Bruno for 5mins in the name of promoting the Formation Tour right after, it could work here.
  

• I can't speak to their data metrics, but Fifa's decisions for previous musical acts have been questionable. It either feels like totally missing the mark or angling to hit every mark (and thus ironically missing the mark) like whatever they did last year.
  
  

I think she's doing her soft intro to ACT III via social media. She previously did this with the GRAMMYs, and other places she was showing up to with that platinum blonde hair prior to CC announcement (as far back as the RWT movie premiere, if I remember correctly). I still don't think we will get anything until April if May is when she's releasing.

I don't think it will be. If her entire shtick is wanting people to sit with the music instead of presenting it with visuals, as it has been this whole trilogy, I think she'll do the same with act iii, and the film will release in theaters later.

There's a scary possibility she'll RWT it and never release it to streaming.

All this Bad Bunny talk reminded me of my delusional ass thinking we would get an act 2.5 after the Jan14 teaser with additional songs and a few remixes. Mariachi trumpets in the video, disappearing US flag, her love for South American music and culture, it kinda made sense, especially for her country themed era.

Thundercat on some funk rock would eat… Chris Martin/Coldplay would be interesting…because I haven't liked their creative output in a LONG time. Bad Bunny… yes. Jay-Z… LOVE. If there's one act he'd be suitable, it's this one.
