I was under the impression she was saving this one for the next album. Hopefully it means the deluxe is coming soon.

Yeah she made it sound like it was supposed to be on the next album. Maybe plans changed and it's on the deluxe. Or her next album is gonna serve as a sequel/extended version of Something Beautiful maybe? Any insiders wanna spill some beans?

If it is anything to do with her Something Terrible album, she can keep it

 

Miley needs to accept the fact she's not a strong songwriter and hire people that know what they're doing like she did on Plastic Hearts lol

I wonder if she's already moving on to the next era. Why not honestly. She did say her next album was almost done before SB was even released so why bother sitting on it?

Yeah! She sent this via WhatsApp, I'm surprised at the amount of SB hate, it's her best album, it's cohesive, mature and she sounds amazing in it! I get that it isn't as instant as her previous ones but it's not her worst at all tbh

Haha I don't mind, my takes are usually super hit or super miss anyway lmao. At least y'all are funny and didn't come for my trachea like the Gaga stans did when I said that The Dead Dance song was mediocre in comparison to most of Mayhem lol

 

My biggest issue with Something Beautiful is the way it's mixed and mastered. Miley's voice is arguably the most iconic aspect of her artistry, and it sounds so muddled and squashed down in the mix. I also prefer her pop hits to the more indie sounding ones, and this album is definitely more left-of-pop than it is straight up pop. I think some of the songs would've been stronger with cleaner production (Easy Lover especially) but some of them are so dissonant and jarring (the title track especially) that it was personally hard to get into.

 

Plastic Hearts is her best album from start to finish in my opinion, and I'm kinda bummed she ditched the rock vibe because it suited her voice so well.

 

Regardless, I'll always be checking out what she's up to. When Miley hits, she hits homeruns out of the park.
