So I randomly rediscovered Enrique Iglesias and I'm probably the last person to talk about male artists here, but i kinda have to . Specifically, his pre-I Like It eras (before diving in, I already was aware of the post-I Like It hits + Hero).

I rediscovered The Ping Pong Song a few years ago, and it was such a childhood jam for me, like the use of the Ping Pong sound is genuinely creative and catchy.
Then last week, I decided to check out the album where that track came from and surprise surprise I already knew the other popular song Tired of Being Sorry.
This week I've still been obsessed with those two tracks so I dove in into his Greatest Hits album and I'm shook by how familiar they all are to me!! Like, they were clearly hits, but I don't get why his streaming stats are so abysmal (at least on Spotify)?

 

The original tracks from the Greatest Hits collection all are smashes in my head even if i haven't heard them since 2008 like wtf (even Away).
When I clicked on Can You Hear Me, I recognised it from the very first second. It's so weird how stuff like that just stays in your head.

 

 

This SMASHA with Ciara like hello?? (He really loved collabing with pop girls, and they were all such good songs! Kelis, Nicole, he even has a track with Whitney Houston herself Could I Have This Kiss Forever, which I didn't even know existed, but it sounded sooo familiar, so I def heard it before.) The RedOne production?? Ugh, it's just late 2000s pop perfection.
 

 

I couldn't believe what I rediscovered next...

Not In Love has like 5M streams, so I thought I wouldn't know it but I do! I'm honestly blown away by his amount of hits.

And just for comparison Takin' Back only has 40M streams on Spotify, but the music video has 300M views.

 

Then there's Rhythm Divine, Be With You!! ugh it gives me huge Kylie vibes (OANLT sibling). Also Love To See You Cry is very Fever-ish. 

 

 

So I guess the point of this thread is to ask if y'all remember these songs?? What's your favourite Enrique song? Any memories/stories tied to him or his music?

I honestly think all these songs are super underrated or forgotten... or maybe it's just me having a nostalgic spiral.

I love the ping pong song (although the spanish version superior). its one of those songs for me that really takes me back.

His music always brings me back to my childhood so I have a soft spot for him even though he was never the most talented lol. This is my favorite song from him

he has a Kylie collab too. of the songs posted, the only one i know well is Not In Love. i've heard Be With You, but i think it was from listening to him as an adult recently.

He used to bring out fans during his performance of Hero in one of his old tours, however now that I think about it it might have been from 2011 cuz I tried searching for it and couldn't find it but saw other videos with female fans and it says 2011. But it could be older like I initially remembered, but I don't see it on youtube. 

He's very underrated nowadays and rarely talked about on here. But yeah, everything in the op is a 10/10.

I would definitely say he is underrated although he has kinda given up on the whole music thing in recent years with releasing his final album that sounded like he was bored of his mind. Loved almost all of his other stuff, though.

I was raised as an Enrique hater but I saw the light thanks to a good friend of mine. He's so hot, sweet and unproblematic, has been with the same woman for more than 20 years and counting (Anna Kournikova hello! iconic!), and has had so many hits that have spawned like 3-4 different decades... He's also the only nepobaby I really admire.
