With all the recent stuff like losing her management and canceling tour and all that after releasing 5 singles that flopped  would she be better as an independent artist?

She should rebrand herself and do something more authentic. Something that actually represents her real self

It looks like she's not gonna have a choice but to be….

Her brand seemed very label manufactured, so she would basically have to become a whole new artist.

 

She could do that, but it's 1000% more work and you really have to a passion for it because there is not much money in it and I could image it being a very unthankful job sometimes. You also really have to carve your own specific niche and be really lucky, because you can't release generic pop tracks nobody remembers, competition is simply too hard for that.

the thing about Ava is we don't really know if she's struggling because of a bad team or because she herself is a lazy person. so because of that it's hard to say if she'd really be better off as an independent artist, cause i feel like she needs SOMEONE to give her a push to take action in her career...? 

I think she needs to go the Carly Rae Jepsen route, honestly. settle down, scale down a bit, find a cute supportive team and label, be happy with her lot and do what she knows she does best.

I think she should either (1) pivot to songwriting (her pop instinct is great) or (2) move to UK/ Europe if she wants to continue her popstar career

Some artists don't have the drive or skills to go on a full independent route. She should find a new deal and focus on build a great creative team around her and a loyal fanbase to follow her next steps. 

No, she should try to find a new label, one who is willing to promote her worldwide but with a clear focus on the UK and mainland Europe markets.

 

She should get good songs & a management.

She needs to get the **** out of Atlantic at the very least. That label is perhaps the most incompetent out of any major record label. They put their sole focus on a handful of artist, and every other artist under their label fumbles and tumbles their way through their contract until they can get the **** out of there.

 

I would love for her to go independent, but I unfortunately don't think she has the resources to support her music creation or performances without some form of label backing her. I feel she likely has done little to no networking to have made those career connections to aid her if she did go independent and she needs those.

She should see if Doritos is hiring seeing as she has strong work experience in reheating nachos

Wouldn't work as long as she herself keeps being lazy.

 

She debuted in the same era as Zara / Bebe / Dua / Anne-Marie etc and look at how they've all managed to find a decent niche for themselves, except for her. Bebe and Zara might not be commercially succesful anymore but they can get a decent hit from time to time, and Zara actually has somewhat of a supportive base.

I've been a casual fan since Sweet But Psycho, but never a full fan. I always give her songs a shot & this era hasn't done a single thing for me. 

 

The thing w/ Ava's music is it lacks identity. It usually has crisp production & can make you bop, but lacks in creativity or the lyric department is almost borderline AI sounding at times. 

 

So she needs to either just write these songs as pitches for other artists that need a meaningless bop, or she needs to rehaul her image/sound.

This is a really good point. I live in EU and I feel like she's a radio darling here. When My Oh My dropped it was playing in my local pizzeria everytime I was there

I think she should but idk if she has the drive, it's a lot of work. 

I think being independent works best for creatives that have forward thinking ideas that a label would only be in the way of, stifling their artistry with commercialism and wanting to play the game 

 

I'm not necessarily sure that's the case for Ava
