Katy's streams keep rising why?

Featured Replies

I mean this has been very well established for years now…she's still and will forever be a huge name but any current output from her is irrelevant

She was one of the like 5 biggest artists in the world from 2008-2015 with multiple mega smashes; she will forever be remembered by Millenials and Gen Z. People stream those hits. The streams of those hits are rising because she is touring and the clips are circulating TikTok/insta/twitter (as happens with all tours) where people get reminded those songs exist and that they like those songs.

She is very lucky to have that and thus will always have a bigger career than 99% of artists; however, literally no one is checking for any music put out by her post-2014

Thinking of You is blowing up on Tik Tok, everyone wants that sound from Katy back

Lies. Chained To The Rhythm, Bon Appetit, Swish Swish, Feels, Never Really Over and Harleys In Hawaii were all either hits or viral moments.

Everyone's choosing to stream her classics instead of paying the insane prices to hear 143 play while she rips off Pink and Star Wars for 2 hours

So... how the tour would be increasing the streams? Focus on your narrative!

THIS. this is the route katy should take.

1. she started as a pop rock artist (at least when it comes to singles like ikag, toy, and h&c). plus, her gospel/christian roots make her voice naturally suited for the genre.

2. her age doesnt align with candy pop anymore. the public might not be into bubblegum stuff from her, but might accept pop rock from her.

3. sure, this direction is risky. but tbh shes got nothing to lose at this point. her career's at its lowest, and while she might lose some fans who grew up with her bops, returning to her roots could be seen as an artistic, authentic move.

then why do the witness and smile singles go viral every other months? CTTR, Bon Appetit, NRO, Harleys, Swish Swish?

Katy is the Queen of Pop and the most relevant Pop girl of 2025 so far so this makes sense :-*

We all secretly stan Katy :gaycat1:

Lifetimes Tour ha impact

I honestly went back to 143 with the tour

She's an enduring pop icon despite all her recent floppage.

Katy has a strong discography and Teenage Dream is a timeless album that includes multiple classics.

The Teenage Dream singles pull great daily streams and the album is still charting on the Billboard 200. It has been charting for 420 weeks, which makes it a total of 8+ years and one of the longest-charting female albums of all time.

Also her being on tour most likely have helped the streams increase as well.
