There's no way the Geffen execs heard this song and thought yeah this will be a hit in America. Bang Si Hyuk does not have the vision or know how to get these girls where they need to be 

The gag is... People would be bopping to this if the lyrics were in Korean

This is definitely different than I would've expected. I hated it on the first listen. It's connecting a bit more on the second. 
 

The lyrics are really bad, but the production is great.

I just watched the music video. The visuals are fire and the choreography goes off. But the lyrics...? I have no clue what they're even trying to say. Lara's second verse is particularly bad - it feels like Miranda Cosgrove's "yeah I cuss a little".

 

The comment section on the video is pretty honest about the disappointment. I wonder what they'll do, and how quickly they'll move on from this single.

 

All that said, I will probably still listen to this... idk the beat is just so good... Lol.

I was thinking that too…like why would they intentionally set them up like that?  

You know what this reminds me of… when Girlicious dropped "Stupid ****" and I just sat there in silence like wth was that?  
 

(yes, I know that's a old ass reference lol…but both times I was genuinely shocked and how bad of a song was released by a group I was otherwise excited for). 
 

Both almost felt like a parody or something

Do they even know the girls they are writing for? Do they know their core audience? A Tesla name-drop?

But like, did the label not think about the fact that since they're "guests" in the K-Pop world…that people would take this as mocking K-Pop? 
 

Maybe I'm overly cautious for no reason.  
 

But there are so many confusing things about this single choice.  

 

This song is aggressively bad and is what happens when a company that is heavily corporate tries to ride alternative waves
