In fact Out of the Woods seems to be the only song on 1989 inspired by something that actually happened to her :rip:

when it comes to 1989 it took years for the spell to wear off and discover how calculated and surface level it is, and it would've been another TD and age like milk if it wasn't for her involvement in every aspect of it's creation, not saying that the songs aren't great and some even incredible because I'd be lying but that doesn't take away from the fact that it was engineered specifically to be the insanely huge era it became and is by far her album that contains the least emotion...

Why do people engage with artists they don't like . I couldn't imagine camping in a Bieber thread and keeping up with his every move... I just ignore him We must pray for the victims of Taylor Swift

You’re absolutely right that is genetically bred to be a successful pop album. It’s like all of Taylor’s albums are siblings and then they own this radioactive dog or something :rip:

Stay Stay Stay is such a BOP, can't believe it's hated so much :jonny5:

There’s a reason why it’s hated so much she should unrelease it

I was watching Blackpink’s Coachella set and then got reminded that blondie still has Super Bowl and Coachella as trump cards if she’s ever underperforming for an era :deadbanana4:

Do y'all tend to listen to Taylor on shuffle/curated playlists or do you tend to take on the albums as entire bodies of work? I usually listen to her albums as a whole (or close to the whole thing) personally

I have made an entire playlist with all of her albums in chronological order and i listen to it very regularly.

Most people think it’s 1989 but the truth is that is the least Taylor Swift album of all her albums. Even Lover is more her than 89 :gaycat6:

1989 is literally a gp album at this point :rip:

it’s an amazing album, don’t get me wrong. but it’s her most “for the gp”. no fan is gonna have that as their top album in her discog. but i still prefer it more than lover.

At least now y'all understand what it feels like when I see you hating on Sad Beautiful Tragic or The Moment I Knew (or Birch, I'm still salty from the discography rate).

Those are two of her best songs ever, i actually get mad when i see people hating on them. For me The Moment I Knew is what All Too Well is for most of the fanbase.

It's a bop :sorry:

It really bugs me how WCS and TGW verses have the same melody. I can't listen to either of them. Great lyrics, beautiful lyrics, though.

I think it's that hated because of how blatantly immature it is :rip:

I also can't stand her vocals on it (in the original version), it makes me wanna go deaf :rip:

The fact 1989 is such a strong “pop” album that if it were anyone else it might be their best. But for Taylor’s discography it’s on the weaker end — it doesn’t even make the top half of her albums for me :dies:

What solid albums she has.

Hits Different sucks, too. Aaron is kind of a terrible collaborator when it comes to composition. He sat there and let Taylor recycle her past work like it was nothing.

Aaron is definitively too overpraised by the fans for sure.

For 3AM tracks, definitely. Like, you can literally hear the mad woman bridge in WCS. But evermore is Taylor's best work so I guess he gets a pass.

evermore is definitively a masterpiece.

The guy is a creep, to think that one of her most iconic songs is about HIM of all people still blows my mind to this day :rip:

Thankfully it was just a brief crush but i still don't get it :rip:

That's EXACTLY what i thought the first time i've heard about it. I wished i could erase it from my mind.

It also doesn't help that i decided, out of morbid curiosity, to listen to his song response to it. I'm still traumatized to this day :rip:

Hard agree. 1989 has too many skips.

I can't stand his voice, even though I liked Fireflies back in the day :mazen:
