To compare, Harry’s House has 13 tracks too and a total length of 42 minutes. It’s also a one disc vinyl so I think ‘Midnights’ will be around 40-45 minutes long.

If she aims for the 46 minutes mark, seems like the songs on Midnights will average around 3.5 minutes each. If the songs feel complete, then I won't complain

I really wish we would get a single this friday but I don’t think she’s coming before the grammy period ends 

1989 is gonna be her commercial peak forever methinks, but she's never been as loved/respected as she is right now. I feel like so many people including us fans still don't see it. The third imperial phase has been going on since July 2020 with folklore and got boosted by evermore, her 3rd AOTY win, the re-recordings making old fans reconnect with her songs and getting new people into her (especially RedTV), and finally TikTok sounds basically becoming her discography on shuffle. Even when 1989 was smashing and breaking records she was not as big as she is right now imo. Swifties, casual fans, ex-haters, GP, critics, you name it.. legit everyone is on her side this time and her celeb status is much bigger without any silly Squad, Kimye, or boyfriends drama and tabloids fodder. I will forever be shook at her career trajectory.

 

THIS is why we need Midnights to be another magnum opus, and I have no doubts about that honestly. Concerning the hits it's still early to predict anything since we don't even know the sound or have reliable  producers tea, but if *she* wants to get a smash hit then she will. Otherwise I'm just gonna enjoy the music and hopefully visual*s* cause I know that she's just not as hungry as she was years ago. She only cares about the debut week and her albums smashing anyway.

She stayed at #3 in the US behind Bad Bunny and Drake. So I'm not expecting too much of an increase

I wonder if the stars are a reference to Midnights or to a lead single called Stars or something

I hope there will be a Target Exclusive Cover, and after 6 months release a Deluxe Edition with a different cover, and additional songs with a rearranged tracklist so that those who bought the standard edition will have to buy the vinyl, CD and cassettes again.

Why is someone saying 250-300k preorders in the album thread?  

Google says one disc of a vinyl can hold max 46mins, so no more annoying "bloated" comments in reviews 

 

Edit: yes I'm still salty about a publication calling Lover bloated but not Scorpion
