Pokemon song of the summer  the rest of the album is excellent as well! TBH I only liked a handful of songs on their first album, but I'm at least liking, if not loving, the entire album this time!

Not yet, they performed those songs during their Tiny Desk performance.

84 on Metacritic with 9 reviews!

this album is so going to be my aoty

heard pokemon and liquidize and they're GREAT

gonna wait to hear the rest tomorrow

Great album, it's full of bangers! However I do miss some of the humour and punkiness from their debut.

mangetout and pillow talk are the standouts tracks for me

pokemon, mangetout and pillow talk are my faves from the new ones

great album

:WAP:

more instant and consistent than their debut but it's kind of lacking bangers. highlights for me were CPR, Catch These Fists and Jennifer's Body.

This is truly the best album of the year. Truly a progression compared to their debut.

This is a classic in the making.

    liquidize

    mangetout

    pokemon

    catch these fists

    11:23

    SO OBSESSED

It's a good album but much less ambitious than their debut. I also feel like the novelty of their lyricism and deadpan delivery is lowkey starting to wear off. When they change it up it's really great. Really love 'pokemon' for that reason, I'm digging 'davina mccall' too for how different it is, and the slight Goldfrapp vibes in 'pond song' are also a highlight. :heart2: I felt they were on autopilot for some of the songs though ('CPR', 'pillow talk', and 'don't speak' sound particularly uninspired to me) that just couldn't keep my attention.

I wouldn't call it a sophomore slump, but it's not a particularly memorable second chapter either imo :biblio:

dont speak is giving their my bloody valentine shoegaze moment oh wow oh wow

    @RecordingAcademy GIVE THEM THEIR GRAMMYS!

after a few listens I can say that 'jennifer's body' and 'don't speak' are the only songs i don't care about

    the rest are all 10/10s
