I want to agree with your sentiment.... however, I am SO thirsty for new Avril that I will take whatever we can get (for now).

As long as the song is good, she can sing about falling in love in a California summer night for another ten years. The real embarrassment would be a cheap repetitive song, not the content

I think she needs to go full punk rock, or quit the punk stuff, I agree its over done.

 

I wouldn't complain if the new tracks are acoustic/ piano with more mature lyrics

The way it would've charted (albeit in the 90s) if not for Taylor releasing that week  

Will never understand what happened to her career after Goodbye Lullaby (which was a good album) and the choices she made/they made her do 

If the leaks are something to go by, I think this new song will probably suck sadly...

Even if her pop punk rehashes are a little cheap and repetitive she usually turns out, Love Sux was fun and inoffensive. 

Love sux is great tho. She also tried making mature songs like I'm a mess but it just doesn't work. Fun pop bops would be great.

Love Sux was her best album since TBDT. So I'm here for it

We're in the day and age where a lot of people aren't traditionally settling down anymore. Most millennials (Avril's age group) aren't having kids or buying houses or getting married like generations prior. Like, do you expect Avril to just make some boring Colbie Caillat or OneRepublic sounding song? No. Go listen to them if you some "mature 40 year old Pop" 

The fact that she clarify it's a song (singular) not an album
