Cruises in general don't appeal to me. I did a river cruise once and that was enough.

I have a curiosity but ultimately I wouldn't want to be in a hedonistic environment for that period of time. I once spent over 24 hours in a bathhouse and I felt like a hamster in a cage, repeatedly having one sexual experience after another, always with a bottle of poppers in my hand until I'd finally had enough.

I'm confused about why would you have one sexual experience after another if you're not enjoying it? Besides, there are lots of things you can do in a cruise more than just having sex...

I've been on the Vacaya one. It's fun. There's a lot of partying, drugs, and sex, but there's plenty of space to not really participate in all of that and just enjoy a conventional cruise experience in an environment that let's you feel at ease w/ being yourself around other gay people. I was single when I went and there were plenty of guys of all relationship backgrounds (single, open, and closed) who had great experiences.

 

Atlantis I have not done (I might soon-ish) but I've heard it's a bit more intense. Crowd trends a bit younger than Vacaya and it's a bigger party. 

 

These cruises are expensive as **** though.  I split my room w/ friends and between flights, hotels, alcohol packages, and the actual cruise expenses it was about a $4,000 to $5,000 trip.

Libido can drive someone to have sex when they'd rather not be bothered by it. 
 

Only now is it clear to me you approach the topic (of these cruises) as something other than exactly what they are - a promiscuous sex marathon.

That's kinda the answer I wanted (at least the first part), I mean we just want to do regular cruise things and tought would be more fun in a gay-themed one, but everyone here makes it seems like they force you to participate in orgys 24/7 or something like that, and as much as we're not scared about sex enviroments, that's not what we are going for.

 

About the money, is that really expensive tho? I feel that's not much different from what I would spend traveling around those cities for the same ammount of days with hotels, transportation, parties and meals included. It's an honest question, as I haven't traveled many countries, all things considered I don't think is thaaaaat expensive, but I don't know for sure tho.

I mean, we're open to new sex experiences, so we're not bothered by that enviroment, but that's not really what we're going after, we like to party, to meet new people and all the regular things you can do in a cruise, but we tought it would be more fun in a gay-themed one as we would feel more comfortable being ourselves, we love gay parties, drag shows, etc.

The sex stuff is pretty contained to specific areas (or guest rooms), at least on my cruise. Most scandalous thing I saw was maybe a dick being sucked on the dance floor one night? And a lot of men in jockstraps, so bare asses. I didn't seek out sexual experiences though so it's definitely very easy to just not participate in stuff like that the entire week. Definitely spoke to men who were sucking dick in the steam room every single morning so it's there if you want it  

 

And you're right, that's not terribly expensive compared to other vacations but it was certainly more than I anticipated. Granted I had to book flights last minute and so my airfare was outrageous. Not sure if this will be your first cruise ever and if so, one thing to note is that you only have so many hours per day to leave the boat and explore the ports, and it usually doesn't feel like enough time. If you were to book hotels and travel to each of these destinations for a few days each you'd get much more mileage out of excursions; having to be back at the boat by 5pm every day really limited our options.

 

But you're going to pay for the price of your room, your flights, potentially hotels depending on your travel itinerary, most excursions in the ports cost money (sailing, snorkeling, etc.), and then the alcohol packages depending on if / how much you drink. Look carefully into all this so you aren't surprised by the total cost of the bill. But overall it sounds like you'd have a lot of fun on a gay cruise!
