Did EUSEXUA come and go?

Featured Replies

A lot of people were excited for EUSEXUA and rushed to claim EUSEXUA Winter as the new thing, but after the album was released, the hype kinda died down (rightfully so).

Yes, there was talk around Striptease and the North West collab, but everyone seems to have moved on and sent FKA Twigs back to the Khia Asylum.

What happened? Did Mayhem Summer take over people's focus?

Personally I'm still here, but yall do yall

twigs has never been a household name in the industry, so those who appreciate her artistry are still listening to the album.

I never expect her music to become the most universally loved thing ever considering how her sound is alienating and not quite commercial. And the fact that Eusexua became her highest charting album is a victory on its own.

btw, Eusexua is my AOTY (threatened by MAYHEM) :gaycat5:

yes, it aged like MILK.

— has skips such as Childlike Things

— best songs were released as singles and album tracks had way less replay value. it needed more tracks like the singles and only Room Of Fools was able to give that.

— trendy but not timeless

— lyrics didn't hold up

— overly pretentious

— people will keep comparing it to MAGDALENE

— some similar theatrics with BRAT (feeling BRAT/EUSEXUA) with the same audience

of course it was overrated as hell and was treated like the second coming of Jesus in ATRL on the release week.

the rollout was a mess tbh. We heard most of the album pretty much half a year before release and by the time the album dropped my hype was kinda gone.

And Childlike Things being the only track that got a noticeable push on social media was also not beneficial for the reception of the whole project (it's the only song I hate :rip:)

The first three songs on the album are still a career highlight tho

No idea what this is supposed to mean. It's still the best album released so far in 2025. It's a revelation and if there's any justice, it will get some Grammy love in dance/electronic next year. As for everything else, Twigs obviously never intended for some sort of cultural domination and the album is too internal for that anyway. There is 0 comparison with brat beyond both having electronic production and ATRL continues to prove their media illiteracy and complete inability for any nuance. How the **** is a made-up word like eusexua supposed to catch on like brat :doc:

Khia? Twigs is an artist making deeply felt personal music, she's not trying to be a celebrity or a popstar.

hey!

having crazy replay value and being viral on spotify isn't everyone's goal no matter what most of yall think here.

being a deep and personal intense work of art which is heavy and not for every moment of the day (like sabrina carpenter for example) is fine too *newsflash*.

and yeah we love braindead pop music a lot! just sayin', caring about an intense marketing technique and promoting yourself all the time and creating a "brat winter" isn't on everybody's list. it would be boring if it was. charli did it. we stanned. we moved on eventually, and now like barbie nobody wants anything to do with it.

is that your goal for your faves? to be a trend in 2025 that makes everyone crazy for a month max, to the point of obsession and then they forgot everything about it because of the attention span of our times? (still love and stream brat every now and then personally).

FKA released her album. she expressed her manifesto. she even released a meditation to get yall to calm and zone out from being on tiktok 10 hours a day.

and now she will she us on tour.

the album is clearly ahead of it's time so,

please stop needing the external validation of others in order to like your music.

especially when it comes to subtle, personal and deep underwater projects like this. it's aoty.

no, it's AOTY so far and its replay value is insane. FKA will never miss.

not you still being hurt by what a 10 year old girl said ….

Is every album supposed to be a brat-sized cultural phenomenon to be deemed as successful from now on…?

do you not see who talked about a Jesus line first? it wasn't me — & yes i'm free to talk about things I don't like in a "masterpiece of an album"

I feel like most people expected more of a departure from her usual sound, going into something clubbier. But other than the singles and Room of Fools it wasn't quite there.
