  1. I don't think it's because Gen-Z is more conservative and moreso that boomers are finally switching to streaming. This combined with the trend of listening to older hit songs which were created to be played on radio (so no explicit language included) makes the Spotify top 50 very tame The downfall of rap music is for sure also another reason for the overall decline I didn't really notice less explicit language in all the new albums I listened to this year tbh
  2. Record labels aren't investing much into new artists anymore. So you either have to bring your own connections and money in order to push yourself into the industry or have an already established following (usually from social media like tiktok). Nepo babies can easily bring both of those things with them so it's less risky for labels to sign and promote them. Labels don't have to invest that much money into them compared to an unknown person who probably needs training and loads of promo in order to even get noticed a little bit.
  3. I saw the leaks of these a few days ago and I was 100% convinced these were some AI sets created by a fan cause they looked too good to be true (Like all these vinyl mockups that get posted all the time) Love that it turned out to be true
  4. I hate this new trend of turning every niche interest or thing into gambling. It ruins the fun. TOTC used to be chart fans creating predictions for the Hot100 in their free time. But they got money hungry and turned into a site promoting Kalshi. You can't even believe them anymore cause they try to influence the betting market with their predictions. And not to mention all the insiders and manipulators getting in there too and doing so with no consequences at all How this is even legal at this point baffles me
  5. Just look at the charts and streaming numbers right now. Old recurrent music is the future. It is more than likely that in the future music labels will no longer push new artists and instead rely on the catalogue of their old artists cause its more profitable. And with AI flooding the music landscape it is probably a good bet to hold on to past hits which were made in an era where the massive output of AI slop didn't exist. And not to mention how nostalgia will always bring people back to listen to past hits. It all kinda makes sense
  6. I will never understand why good 4 you is having such low daily streams. It's even outstreamed by happier and on the same level as favorite crime, despite being her biggest smash
  7. Surprised about honeybee being so stable but that's what her best song deserves I've seen lots of new viral videos with her staying quiet at the „I love you baby" on the last chorus. Going viral just for your genius songwriting, we love to see it.
  8. Shirin only being able to get hits with annoying ass meme songs now Bauch Beine Po really destroyed her career cause she's been releasing pure trash since it smashed
  9. Am I the only one who can't play a single song from the album on apple music? No error message or anything, they just don't play Had to go back to youtube for my first listen
  10. which is her second highest peak there (after NTLTC which debuted at #2 and dropped out the top 10 the following week ) This era may not become as big as ES but she is gaining back her global audience which kinda dropped her for the last two eras.
  11. It has always been like this. Back in the day it just wasn't as noticeable cause the bad singers used playback to hide their voice so they didn't stick out as much I guess. Today we expect everyone to sing live even if it's combined with a backing track. I mean there were still artists like Paula Abdul or Milli Vanilli() the same way we have a Selena Gomez today Edit: Adding to this, artists nowadays need more than just a good voice. They have to write their music, have to be relatable and build up their image themselve. Writing camps and label-made popstars don't exist anymore like they used to be. A Whitney Houston didn't write her songs, she was just the final piece to make them happen. Now an artist has to fully create the song in first place.
  12. The way the autotuned her voice so much that it became unrecognizable besides a single note Could have been anyone
  13. I love how everything about this is so perfect. The song, the video, the lyrics the build up... and the creative decision to add that godly outro to an already long song which pushes it to a 11/10. I wasn't really hyped for this era cause I couldn't connect with Drop Dead at all but The cure pulled me back into being excited for the album.
  14. Personally for me it was Manchild. I had the wrong expectations when it first dropped and just couldn't get into it with it's pop/country fusion. But after some time I finally was able to appreciate what a fun, carefree song it is and became obsessed with it. And looking at its recurrent numbers I guess I'm not the only one
  15. It feels like google wants to kill the internet like we know on purpose. Traffic for smaller websites will collaps even more and most will slowly start to disappear cause there is no reason for them to exist anymore. And all the big players will just absorb all the traffic while offering the bare minimum The dead internet theory is becoming more real with every day it seems
  16. Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Rihanna, Kylie Minogue, Alicia Keys, P!nk and Katy Perry all did the same gig, so it's not that random. I guess you can only perform on top of a mountain if you can serve power vocals
  17. as long as it's hiding the amount of downvotes (like youtube and tiktok) it's gonna be useless. We need to see the amount of people disagreeing cause right now it just feels too easy to push a hateful agenda. Reddits system is still kinda the best out of all the social media platforms.
  18. it would have perfectly fitted in her 2015 droplet era (cause it was uncohesive anyway). But the bigger regret from that era is the pass on Lean On tbh
  19. so she is not even allowed to attend a red carpet event for her own movie or what?! The call is coming from inside the house, you guys are way more annoying than anything she ever did
  20. Nicki having the same amount of #1s in Germany as Saweetie
  21. also shady by them to not count Dua Lipa (complete edition) as an album nnn. I guess it's officially a playlist Edit: Seems like they only counted standard edition albums except for Ed Sheeran for a strange reason
  22. The artist list seems weird. We know from kworb that Drake is still ahead by the streams provided on their app. So maybe they don't count certain features But the whole list kinda feels wrong, especially with how low Rihanna is placed too
  23. Oh no two hot beautiful people being attracted to each other and dating. What an unrealistic concept Some of you sound like such fools, like what exactly doesn't make sense about this? And no not everybody is instantly gay just because they're attractive
  24. to be honest it's sad news that the Inna collab didn't happen cause I was hyped the most about this track. It was just too perfect to be true. Thinking about it, maybe they contacted Alexandra Stan after Inna dropped out and it was never meant to feature both of them? (And then they dropped Alexandra for Shakira nnn) At least we have a messy story on our hands I guess
  25. still hope they will shoot a cute video for this for a last push.
