In reality, we all truly know why he wants to dismiss this function, since he saw the results and got a reality check :ahh::ahh:

Chartmasters have released a new function where you can compare artists numbers directly on the platform, in case y'all wanna compare Kpop acts etc. :

We don't.

IE: The post above is exactly why I said what I said.

Idk how many people realize this but BP truly remains the only kpop act (BTS too if they do it in the future) who performed at Coachella and shifted some conversation, the others who have gone so far have remained within that niche of kpop fans and haven't really caused much commotion outside of that circle apart from being in a few default headlines as a "what happened this week".

Like yeah they might benefit from the exposure after Coachella and that might open doors for them for tours, but in terms of being THE moment, i don't see anyone doing it on that level tbh. And I'm not tryna put BP on some crazy pedestal because I know their limitations as a group, but they already had an advantage of being somewhat known in the US at that point through the mediaplay and YG machine among other factors, so a lot of things clicked for them for that moment to happen. I truly think NewJeans could have had something similar of an impact because their presence on the US mainstream was already kinda stronger than any other group apart from BTS/BP with HYBE mediaplay, Spotify playlisting exposure and their songs being on some rotation on mainstream radio. But I can't think of any other act tbh.

oops just farted very loudly but why does my fart sound better than every skz's song?! :deadbanana4:

What NewJeans has managed to achieve in such a short time is honestly insane. They've completely transformed the sound and aesthetic of the K-pop industry and shaped the core identity of the 5th generation

welcome to the 10M club babes. Highest chinese idol :alexz:

What is funny in this thread is people saying ATEEZ Coachella made no noise, but no one remember that thanks to Coachella ATEEZ was invited to perform at the Mawazine Festival in Morrocco which is the 2nd Biggest attended festival (in persons) behind the Vienna Festival. And they not only attended but headlining there

And during ATEEZ set they pulled out 130k people in the audience. Which was very surprising for the organizers who didn't schedule that.

Also Aespa is set to perform there this year.

exactly that's why I keep saying the kpop industry messed up real bad with NJ

no group is making any noise now

:clack:

So this thread is battling who the the 4th Gen IT GIRL, when it turns out miss Song YuQi is endorsing the most brands out here.

I know her money is long all that plus all the songwriting and producing credits.

It's important to point out that Mawazine is a free festival though

I don't usually took twitter x bs seriously but the racism towards thais / southeast asia is so normalized in Kpop

we have one user here too with their subtle racism and downplaying the contribution from the region  :doc:

Aespa's music now is a lot more vibey with the west (e.g. Whiplash vs Savage or NL)

But I don't want them to headline Coachella for a few years. All should get some solos and what not first

It's still the 2nd biggest attended festival and most of the people going there are not from Morrocco.

Aespa isn't at the point to headline yet, but at a point where they could definitely do a full set on the Sahara, Outdoor Theater, or Main Stage.

Asian fans in general outside Korea get downplayed all the time.

honestly i say this with absolutely no shade and i don't want to argue over the same stuff again and again but you do realize that stray kids' discography is over 4 times bigger than aespa's right? :deadbanana: these numbers will never be a flex considering aespa have barely 80 tracks on spotify and the picture you posted show that they have more unique listeners…

it's insane how you believe the only reason SKZ have more streams than aespa is because they have more music, when in reality SKZ's top 25 most streamed songs have more streams than aespa's 84 tracks :deadbanana4:

why is that one excluded asteroid is still trying to prove? SKZ are still flops anywhere besides their delulu fan girls. No sane person cares about them :bibliahh:
