This came up on my youtube homepage and why are so many of the girls actually very pretty off stage but on stage just look so plain/average? SM is actually making them look WORSE when performing

You actually made a point here. Like I'm not a NJZ fan, but they can't win.

 

Personally, I'm rooting for them to switch it up and follow the Aespa/XG print they were moving towards.

I think it will be a mix of both - I believe we will get a bit edgier version of their original concept

 

there is also other thing; they were supposed to release a full album in 2023 - first plans were for the end of that year, after the LoL collab, but the album got postponed by HYBE and then the internal mess happened and we should be happy for the crumbs we got in 2024, because again, an album was scheduled for the end of the year along with the fanmeeting in Korea and Fortnite collab… everyone say „thank you Hybe"  that ****** company was very motivated to get rid of NJ and now ADOR is crying when NJ got rid of HYBE  

 

anyway, I don't believe they scrapped everything, they are redebuting too soon for that scenario, so I believe they will use some of the material from the NJ1 drafts - and that was supposed to be Super Shy follow up and would be fitting considering the latest snippets

I'm grateful that they're even able to release music at all. Their absence has made me realize that NewJeans' music (IN MY OPINION!) stood out. Their songs had a very unique feeling in K-pop.

 

Lyrics aside, theres no other song in Kpop that sounds like this to me

 

Also this. Like theres a lot of taking inspiration from them obviously, but no one's really doing their sound

 

 

I'm sorry but her vocals on this, she showed up to that studio ready to WORK 

Also...I hope the upcoming sub-unit comeback allows her to showcase this side of her voice again too

oh obviously! their music feels polished and expensive 

 

and the girls are really likeable, authentic and have the it factor - that's why they weren't cancelled which is really a miracle in the kpop world
