hah Of course you can't answer me because you know I'm right. How can you claim to be original after you've essentially taken- ı mean been inspired by Weekly's concept and choreography, Gfriend's choreography, New Jeans' name, and everything else from Speed could possibly think of? lol

For what? I said in my original replies to you that it's not about NJ being the "first" to do anything, it's about the unprecedented nature of a company purposefully developing a group to copy, cannibalize, and eventually replace an active group that happens to be one of its most successful ever.

It's obvious you have the usual army/Sniper/Aespann agenda. You can't see dozens of similarities between your mafia-backed group and NewJeans but can see them between NewJeans and… weeekly or GFRIEND despite them having no similarities in concept, styling, looks, sound, MV, stage design, anything. It's just a corny straw man argument. It literally took you guys from April 2024 to dig up a couple 1 second clips of choreography, no concept or styling or anything, to try to distract from your group that gets called out for similarities to THE SAME GROUP every other week.

You are being purposefully obtuse and intellectually dishonest. If you weren't fighting tooth and nail the other day to deny TemuJeans similarities to NJ I would at least be able to "both sides" the argument, but you being so confident in this just shows where you're coming from.

Keep cheering for the cartel and doing their bidding. like I said, nobody is buying it besides you guys and the hybe GG fanbases.

I AM OBSESSED

The whole thing

If I was a tv channel for the Gayo I'd invite them and KATSEYE and make them exchange their song.

Now i don't want to be that messy, but I have noticed that New Jeans have new development and news every time ILLIT is promoting.

was playing around with google street view and then i went to the times square and saw New Jeans monkey\

Did all that research and dissertation just for TemuJeans to STILL be TemuJeans omg

The problem with the New Jeans / Speed comparisons is that it's obvious MHJ took inspo from them (and a few other 90s Jpop and Kpop groups). What's left out is that Speed, along with many other Jpop and Kpop groups of that era, were stealing wholesale from 90s hip-hop, even filming MVs in Cali or NY. East coast, e-east coast...

New Jeans also stole their music from UK garage, which was relatively fresh to Kpop. This combined with a classic, 90s-nostalgic image worked really well. The group's concepts weren't particularly original, but they were innovative and absolutely felt fresh. That's why they're still outstreaming many of their peers despite the group essentially being defunct.

The Illit comparisons just don't work out well for them. Had they pushed for a more game-y sound like Tick Tack or gone with a more pure pop vibe like IVE and H2H, things might have been different. But the image + the sound was just too close, and coming from everything we know about the soon-to-be-jailed CEO and the "creative" direction team at Hybe, it's obvious from an outsider's perspective what they were trying to do.

Like, it sucks for the Illit girls, because they obviously had no idea what they were getting into, and it obviously sucks for New Jeans, too, but there's no point arguing over what's obvious to everyone. What sucks most of all is that Hybe fanatics still defend this when Kpop essentially came to a halt after Hybe scammed the industry.

The way many 5th gen groups like ILLIT are taking inspiration from NewJeans is different though. NewJeans drew from a wide range of influences and combined them in a way that created a distinct identity of their own. That is very different from what's happening now, where companies are closely imitating NewJeans' overall sound, visual direction, and branding because NewJeans proved it was very successful.

I know you thought that first video was serious but I almost fell out laughing. Like do you all even think before you post? Did you even watch it? Most of the choreos aren't even similar and some of it is literally as stupid as "jump right, jump left." lmao

NJZ was in the works in 2015 as White Fox (now split into H2H, NJZ and Aespa). Why would they be copying Weeekly when their plans were created first?

Also, NJZ is a literal 90s throwback and MHJ has been using that schtick since the mid-2000s with SNSD. Nobody's calling them futuristic or avant-garde. It would be like calling Billie Eilish a copycat and then posting pictures of her outfits resembling acts from the early 2000s - that's the point of a reference. Copying and paying homage are not the same.

ILLIT's team gets criticism because they're blatantly copying another girl group that their label is openly trying to sabotage. It's clear HYBE wants to bury NJZ and replace them with the exact same girl group but with a new label: People who didn't follow either group couldn't tell them apart (myself included). When it was revealed that ILLIT's team had MHJ's plans, it became pretty ******* sinister. No amount of HYBE bootlicking will change that.

Not shading anybody in particular but it's very interesting seeing certain members of this community who were in complete denial about what happened between 2NE1 and Black Pink and/or said its not a big deal and nobody should continue to care about how my favs were treated be on the completely opposite side of the NewJeans vs ilit discourse. Some of y'all really dont give a **** about mistreatment and sabotage and are just mad you can't token stan another batch of world stars and goon at chart updates to drag the kpop groups you hate.

It's almost as annoying as the purple whales jerking off BSH constantly in this thread as if he is personally reading this thread and ready to write them a check for posting lies.

The gag is that despite singing the same demos, Blackpink STILL didn't share as many visual/branding similarities with 2NE1 as TemuJeans does with NJ. At least YG was honest around their debut saying he wanted a prettier 2NE1. And at least they debuted once the former was already disbanded.

This situation would be like YG debuting BP in 2011 in the midst of 2NE1's peak via the black label.

I understand what you're saying in your post at the top of this page, I didn't like BP for a long time because I'm a forever Blackjack, but at least 2NE1 got to have their entire 7 year run despite YG's mismanagement.

Yang Hyunsuk literally put out a letter to the press denouncing Park Bom. 2NE1's last album cycle was literally the blueprint for EVERY black pink visual, down to the ugly minimal album cover and outrageously expensive music video sets. 2NE1 found out they disbanded through the press the day after a photoshoot for the fake album they recorded so that Teddy Park and Yang Hyunsuk could steal the demos out from under them, as despite being illegally uncredited, CL was a major creative driving force behind her own group. You're either lying or uninformed.

2NE1 was hardly the first case of a CEO's personal beef sinking a group either, they're just the largest and most egregious example of all time. This is actually unfortunately not uncommon and the courts had/have an opportunity to form a healthier industry.

I didn't know tbh. I was like 15 at this time so I was just stanning 2NE1 and not paying attention to the scandal, especially because it was adderal or something she got caught with? Something they prescribe to 12 year old children in other countries lol
