Yes. SM was infamous for starting Western demos in K-pop (thank you, Britney Spears).

 

And they gave proper credit. However, when you sell your demo for a lump sum up front, you don't get your name in the credits. It has nothing to do with the company and everything to do with royalty law. It's similar to how Britney Spears isn't credited for her vocals in IU's 23 Remix because IU paid upfront for the vocal stem pack that the producer sold her.

Tell that to Tiffany Redd who was paid peanuts and then erased her name when NCT performed BOSS and GO without Lucas and claiming it was a new version without her lyrics while the songs, lyrics, composition and arrangement didn't change at all. And after being called out publicly, they said nothing but paid her privately. She had to come forward saying no apologies was issued just a check. 

 

 

Edit: The fact that SM flight her to Korea several times for her to write for several SM artists in their own camps and then refusing to pay her saying it was the producer that needed to pay her if using her lyrics. She also called Kenzie for using her melodies for a song but never been credited nor paid for it.

This just proves you didn't fact-check, because in what world does SKZ have anything to do with "Western demos"? Their whole discography is literally made by the members from scratch, which is literally the whole point of their entire concept? They're literally known as the K-pop group with the most creative freedom

 

While TWICE, ITZY, and NMIXX do use some Western demos, it's not to the same extent as SM acts. That's why it's rare to find the actual demos for JYP groups online, whereas for SM acts, you can find all the demos from their entire discography on the internet

No.  What is this lie? Kenzie and YYJ produced their first albums and first Korean big hits. Like Oh and kissing you that were number 1 songs and way bigger then run Devil run ever was in Korea. And SM did give the original songwriters credits and paid for hoot and Genie legally and fairly.
