Is the Kpop Demon Hunters success among western audience gonna help kpop have another international wave? :giraffe: Because we know kpop is kinda peaking globally right now, so it needed this newfound level of interest.

It's more about Kpop Demon Hunters being a cultural phenomenon than it is a Teddy-produced track

Tbf, the Huntrix tracks are nice and catchy, but they are just copies of other popular Kpop songs. It's just proofs that with the right push, Kpop could dominate the world

I know but him being attached and involved in the project is another big win for him and his label!

If all Kpop songs were fully in English I think it would have been even bigger!

BTS #1 most streamed, duh we know :clap3:

Blackpink all the way down at #13 - serving Lady Gaga chart position. despite all members being extremely active and promoted? :katie: it's not looking good for the girls

Jennie and Rosé are literally the most streamed acts at #2 and #3! How it's not looking good for these girls ?

Speaking of IVE, I have a feeling they're gonna switch things up next comeback. Idk I have a really good feeling about this, I think their next title will be one of their best yet

Yes, especially after Ryan Jhun dropping them.

also, why is it such a big deal whenever I drag twice literally just once every quarter? yall circle jerk over blackpink here 24/7 calling their music dated turd, the pinks talentless, calling lisa bunch of misogynistic names and "arnault sugar baby/arnault connection", rosé "thank you bruno" "flop without bruno", jisoo a bunch of "stiffsoo" nicknames and dont get me started with jennie lord :deadbanana:

but when I do the same to twice once every quarter i'm the worst person in this thread :deadbanana2: the hypocrisy :deadbanana2: idgaf about yall but its funny seeing these hypocrite twice stans complain about the things they do here on daily once it gets thrown back to them  :toofunny3:  that delusional witnessed katy perry stan and k$ellie users are the worst offenders lol biggest hypocrites in existence. esp that witnessed katy stan claiming they had me on ignore for years but still reacting to my posts and calling me all names and personal attacks over my celebrity drags yet has the nerve to complain about my harmless posts :deadbanana:)

i'm literally the only person here left defending blackpink and hyping them up posting their stats and stuff cause yall shoo'd away every single one of blinks from this thread because of yalls pretentiousness and unprovoked blackpink circle jerk on this thread on the daily :rip:

Wait what is this fraud? :deadbanana: How come they were above FAMOUS?

Downloads. It'll even out next week when Famous skyrockets and Fromis_9 plummets. Third Gen groups usually get a strong boost from them as that's how music was consumed by their fans originally.

Well you can laugh, but day 8:

Rebel Heart 157k ULs

Dirty Work 211k ULs

aespa also reached 200k ULs within 3 days (before any promotion started), whereas IVE took 3 weeks, and as you say, the chart was empty for IVE with zero competition. And that's before we consider that both Attitude and Rebel Heart have been and gone from the top 10 in a matter of weeks, whereas Whiplash is still there after almost 1 year.

Dirty Work promotion only started 1 week ago too and the song hasn't yet peaked, so :michael:

Why would an IVE fan want to talk digitals with Aespa in 2025? :deadbanana: Dives have been insanely aggressive on Twitter, too.

What is SKZ's Mixtape: Dominate?

  • "Mixtape: Dominate" is a digital release with no music video, no physical album, no official promo, and no Korean comeback schedule.

  • It's a gift to fans, not a chart-focused release. Mixtapes often serve as creative outlets outside of the typical K-pop promotional cycle

What is aespa's comeback?

  • aespa's "Dirty Work" is a full-fledged comeback:

    • Backed by a music video, physical album, huge marketing, music show performances, and international press.

    • These comebacks are designed to dominate charts and streaming.

Factor SKZ Mixtape aespa Comeback
Physical album ❌ None         ✅ Yes
Music video ❌ None                             ✅ Yes
Promo activities ❌ None         ✅ Yes (interviews, shows)
Goal Fan gift, casual drop         Full commercial release
Chart ambition Not prioritized         Heavily targeted

Like? :ahh: You're comparing aespa's full-fledged global comeback, something that was heavily promoted and meant to be their big international breakthrough, to a Korean version of a Japanese song that SKZ only released so they could legally perform it on their record breaking tour. Japanese songs aren't allowed to be performed outside of Japan, so they had to release it in Korean. Like it had no MV, no promotions, no physicals, it was literally just a drop gift for the fans, since SKZ's had their 7 year anniversary as a group, like be serious :ahh:

If you want to compare streaming stats fairly, compare aespa's latest Japanese release to SKZ's latest Japanese release etc. - not a full-scale comeback to a digital gift for fans. Like are you really that naive to think that an actual SKZ comeback would only pull 36K daily streams especially in less than a year:deadbanana:

And let's be honest, if aespa suddenly dropped something like "Hot Mess (Korean Ver.)" with no promo, no music video, and no album tied to it, and just released digitally randomly, would it really pull the same numbers as "Whiplash"? Exactly.

Anyway, SKZ will have an actual Korean comeback in August that isn't tied to any Japanese version. It will be their first promoted comeback in over a year. If you're so confident in aespa's numbers, you can compare again then and see what happens.

Also, despite aespa just having a hyped comeback, they're still struggling to chart consistently on the Spotify Global Artist chart, and their daily streams are currently below SKZ's. And mind you, they're not even top 5 among groups right now. So… what was the point again?

Girl, there's a long pattern of Aespa's title tracks outstreaming SKZ's. You all do well on Stationhead spamming Spotify streams, but it doesn't translate to other platforms.
