LISA - 'ALTER EGO'

Featured Replies

Alright there were some predictions and comparisons to Rosie's performance so here's mine:

Born Again - 4.5m
Rockstar - 2.7m
Elastigirl - 2.3m
Thunder - 2m
New Woman w/ Rosalia - 2.2m
Fxck Up The World w/ Future - 4m
Rapunzel w/ Megan Thee Stallion - 3m
Moonlit Floor - 2m
When I'm With You - 2.5m
Badgrrrl - 2m
Lifestyle - 2m
Chill - 1.9m
Dream - 1.8m
**** Up The World solo - 1m

Rapunzel solo - 1m

Adds up to 34.9m so let's just say 35m :coffee2: Some I played it on the safe side, some are bold

Rosie's debut was carried by Apt's success (almost 1/3rd of the album streams) but even without a big hit yet I think Lisa's numbers, at least the debuts, are generally higher so she should end up with a bit more. Either way it should be fairly close. Expecting similar from Jennie when she arrives

erm 8 years of literal nothing and you're complaning? this is the pinks' first try and they only had 1 year to prepare for their debut albums. rosé wrote her entire album, jisoo was shooting dramas an

  • you saw the album concept and thought this was gonna be some completely cohesive project? it was always going to be a collection of songs and there's nothing wrong with that. if it's not for you, then

Maybe she should have work exclusively with Max Martin, Tove Lo and Ilya. New Woman is really her best and most interesting song!

She should've booked more sessions :(

I enjoyed the album a lot. I think it's pretty much a combination of everything Lisa can do as an solo artist: Her usual/expected sound (Rockstar, Elastigirl, Badgrrrl), some pop music experimentation (Moonlit Floor, When I'm With You, Chill, Born Again), complete different vibes (FUTW sounds so heavy and hard while Dream is so girly and soft) and of course, next level stuff (New Woman, which still is the best song on the album) :giraffe:

It's not cohesive and it wasn't meant to be. It's just a showcase of her habilities with music and an introduction of everything she does and loves, and i think it's amazing. I hate albums where every song sounds the same, bc i get bored. There isn't a single skip on Alter Ego and somehow i felt entertained with each track. I don't know if the music critics will get it and but i did

Still, i have to say - she perfectly choose the right singles, as they're the stronger ones on the record. Rockstar is classic Lisa, New Woman is her best song and takes her to the next level, Moonlit Floor is on trend (although a bit late) but still sounds like a radio hit and Born Again is an amazing song that grew on me a LOT. At the same time, these tracks showcase her versality and what she's about to offer with the album. Props to her.

I won't compare this to Rosie since they couldn't be any more different from each other, but i have to say that i enjoyed Alter Ego way more - and i also liked Rosie btw.

It's not faceless, it's fun, it's unique and i think it's a solid debut. Congrats Lisa :clap3:

She should end up with more because she has more tracks and way more collabs.

I can already see the 100k viral tweet dragging her rap on FUTW but still it's a bop the girls who get it get IT

When I'm With You is so good i really want a music video for it

And the funk bridge of Chill was so fun and unexpected

all of this :clap3:
and i agree that it isnt cohesive and wont be acclaimed (although lets be honest no one expected a Lisa album to be critically acclaimed) but the Alter Ego concept is a cute way to tie all the different sounds together imo. Overall a pretty good debut thats showcasing all the different sides of Lisa and a good foundation to build on for the next album(s)

this would make sense if rose didn't have one of the biggest songs ever in spotify on her album

the more tracks will just make her catch up to rosé's 10M daily smash

their 35M ish prediction is fine

Would it because they swore to me a collabs meant certified hits? So I would hope 5/6 collabs would guarantee them some huge debut streams.

Padding the albums last minute with as many features as possible and increasing the amount of tracks should do that.

Especially when it's very obvious the girls ran back to the studio after Rosé smashed.

can't remember any of the regular posters (the ones that claim to be blinks) in BP music threads calling rosé boring

The Tyla collab is easily the best thing on here after New Woman and I will be requesting a music video immediately.

Well, yes. One is just an opinion of an album and the other is you with the textbook akgae talking points. As if Lisa or Jennie never thought of having any collabs until Rosé invented the idea? :rip:

Akgae talking points being just ...facts?

"Never thought of having collabs until Rosé invented the idea" Nobody said that. There is a reason why the physical versions do not have all the collabs the digital releases do lmfaooo but keep denying it.

For Lisa you can make that assumption, although it's still obviously not because she saw Rosé have one successful collab and suddenly had a eureka moment to add more of her own. But you said "the girls" suggesting Jennie did the same when absolutely nothing publicly has changed about her album.

Akgaes OUT :ahh:At least the thread got a little exciting.

Their solo music is the bottom of the barrel and it's so so sad to see. 0 time put into actual artistic development or figuring out a distinct narrative and style for them, they all went to the studio for one week to record 15 random generic ahh songs with popping credits and mimicked the demo singer with 0 input of their own. The way when you play music by actual pop rap artists like Doja and (old) Nicki there is an earth and mars difference to this collection of cute lil jingles. She has 100000x times more personality on any random bekuh boomesian verse on literally any BP song because there was so much emphasis on each member being a distinct entity with their own unique delivery and role in the songs

If a new artist debuted with this or Rose's albums they would've made an absolute and omega ZERO noise. The only reason this is let fly is because of their huge, hard earned following. But in the long run these albums will have 0 impact on developing their careers further

Even you don't believe that
