Some of these artists haven't had a solo #1 in years, others in nearly a quarter century. Who would shock you most with a solo #1 hit? I picked artists that were popular when we were kids.

The last time Christina Aguilera managed to get a #1 by herself was in 1999, on her debut album. I certainly would be surprised to see her hitting #1 with her own music these days, especially since her twenty+ latest singles all failed to chart.

Most surprising would be JLo with everything that happened this year :deadbanana4:

Least Gaga, cuz DWAS might go #1 in January

This thread is about SOLO #1s.

Wait, that's right, you didn't specify that in the title :deadbanana4:

In this case, I'm gonna pass on commenting who could be the least surprising. JLo would be the most definitely :suburban:

It was in the op :suburban:

#1 where? Hot 100, streaming, Global 200?

At this moment, I'd say Fergie and Gwen would be the most surprising. But we all know that all it takes is the right song at the right moment for anyone to get a smash hit.

J.Lo, her last and only solo #1 was from before a lot of ATRL'ers were born.

Then Alicia, then Nelly.

JLo. The others are mostly just forgotten, while JLo is actively being hated on :suburban:

Jennifer Lopez. But she did that once when On the Floor was released.

Britney or Gaga

Huh? Britney's comeback single would be a smash.

Fergie and Nelly Furtado are neck and neck… Both careers are on life alert

JLo wouldn't be that much surprising to me tbh, latin music is one of her strongest genres and it is still doing well enough on the charts, and if she manages to release a song that goes viral, she could do good, I mean no one expected her to have a hit when On the floor came out. It's really a long shot, but still more likely than most artists on the poll.

most surprising would be Fergie Ferg tbh… like she never f*cking releases and even though she once upon a time had a ginormous era, I can't recall her ever really having a solo fanbase

least surprising would be Ga or Britney. if Brit plays her cards right—and most importantly, WANTS to—she could have one or two more big hits. Gaga… all I can say is never fully discount her: she still has that fire in her
