Jack winning, did ATRL lose AGAIN?

Featured Replies

Sabrina's album is a smash both commercially AND critically, it seems like Jack Antonoff won AGAIN. Did ATRL, known as OJH, lose? :cm:

His productions are the weakest in the new sabrina record. He's such a basic predictable producer

He is still way overrated, snobbish and full of himself.

  • the thing is he worked on 5 songs out of 13, which is a healthy balance unlike entire records such as midnights and TTDP which are duds

Yes, I fear.

Seriously, though, as much as I criticize Jack and think some of his work is incredibly lazy and repetitive, he is a talented producer. And mildly cute. :clap3:

not sure about ATRL, but I def lost. I'm not even trying to be a Jack Antonoff hater, I didn't check the track credits. the one song I liked, that last one, he didn't even work on lmao.

daily reminder that he produced the worst songs of the album

#ThankYouIanGodpatrick :clap3:

Contributing a woman's success to a man who only worked on a handful of songs on the album (and the worst ones) is such a hot ATRL take of the day.

He truly is a one-trick-pony. I don't understand what critics see in his work.

Jack Antonoff is pop cancer and the sole reason pop girls whisper instead of using their full range.

Jack is a hated producer on ATRL, all I am saying here is that he worked on another successful/acclaimed album, not that Sabrina owes him her success, stop playing dumb and be serious :dies:

This is a bold take with this avi

Britney's singing style or songs were never the whispery type, though. Other than some sexy midtempos on In The Zone. So be for real.

Jack Antonoff is a talented dude but he's the epitome of this midtempo with poor melodies, boring pop songs that even a toddler that just learned to talk could sing, cause every track I've heard produced by him is closer to talking than singing. Any Britney song produced by Max Martin is easily more vocally dynamic than that. You really thought you ate that.

Please Please Please is a very good song, the other three he produced on the album on the other hand are very unremarkable :michael:

Jack is a complete one-trick pony as a producer, unfortunately lack of vocals is what is trendy right now so he can afford to keep doing it :michael:

Exactly! To be fair we can't really blame Jack for the GP completely loving everything he does :dies:

Whew Lordy this is bananas :dies:

Im sorry but "fuc* it I love you" by Lana, "Labyrinth" by Taylor, and "Sober II (Melodrama)" by Lorde are just 3 examples of MANY, MANY songs that Jack worked on with dynamic vocal arrangements that Britney could not, has not, and will not ever be capable of. And that's saying something because it's not like Lana, Lorde, and Taylor are that gifted in the vocal department.

But you are not about to get on Beyonce's internet and lie the way you just did. Ain't no way in hell you expect anyone to believe songs like "Hold It Against Me" and "3" are more vocally challenging than the stuff on NFR, Melodrama, and folklore — 3 absolute masterpiece albums.

- is what we all did when we read your post about Britney's Max Martin tracks being vocally dynamic :deadbanana4:

I love Brit but you know damn well she's the weakest vocalist in mainstream music that isn't Selena Gomez. Don't set her up to be dragged like that.

And I have nothing against any of the artists you mentioned, not even Jack, because he's just clearly filling a demand and people who team up with him are really clever. What the GP craves he's got it.

But you can't quote me and downright disrespect Britney as if her songs don't have belting, falsetto voice, masterfully crafted runs and adlibs, impressive bridges and a vocal delivery that screams pop perfection through and through. I haven't seen that from any of the girls you mentioned and seriously doubt any of these songs from these singers have anything that remotely looks like that.

When Jack Antonoff produces a POP song that is anywhere close to Lonely, I'm not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman, Stronger, Lucky, Oops or Baby One More Time in these departments, then he'll beat the Pop Killer allegations.

It's wild thinking that sad girl music is vocally (or any kind of) dynamic at all tbh :deadbanana4:

britney is more vocally talented than those 3 you mentioned. she just got a bad rep since she always lipsync.  :giraffe:

I fear Jack wasn't involved in the album's best song:
