It's still has the same vibe as crash, A lot of distorted elements if that makes sense, but a lot more rnb.

It's way better than Crash, but it's not giving WWW1. In fact, WWW1 will likely remain her magnum opus and I don't think it can be topped. The choice to release this only 2 months after her newest alb

  • Crash wasn't great so I'm hoping this is better, I really want her to go back to her SSS sound

Does the second verse of SINGLE sample Brandy's Sittin' Up In My Room?

Idk like I always get dissapointed with her slow jams... But I love the uptempo songs a lot and I'm glad to see many Dixson songs on it

I have a feeling Crash was the album the label and her wanted to make to bank a hit and then it didn't happen and she's back to her roots. It fits her best

Idk if this is the case here. She randomly got married to Mariel Gomerez, who is a big music executive on Roc Nation AND Parkwood, and this connection ended up with her getting a Roc Nation management deal and Mariel becoming Kehlani's A&R for Crash. Now Mariel called their marriage fraudulent, asked for divorce and also Roc Nation dropped Kehlani this month. So with this mess, a tour about to happen amid other messy stuff happening over the past few weeks, it feels more of a panic situation than anything else, especially since some of these songs are kinda old (which give the "back to her roots" vibes to this project).

I'll check it out later. RPG was my favorite from the first one so hopefully something comes close to that for me. :jonny5:

Do you consider any of the tracks to be uptempo? I think this album is full of slow to midtempo R&B songs. Quite boring tbh.

SweetSexySavage remains my favourite project from her.

More like in the context of the whole record yk like Love Like or Know Better - but yeah even for them they are kinda slow

Well, Kehlani's always been inspired by Brandy.

I like her old uptempo songs like CRZY, Get Like, Too Much (which actually sounds like Aaliyah) and I Wanna Be.

because it is inspired by (if not sampling) more than a woman.

kehlani's old music was good, she's really lost me over the years but i'm excited to check this project out

wow didnt know these details. it puts in a whole other light

Is it just me or does the mixing sound really off? Almost muffled or LQ...

was just about to comment on this finishing my first listen, the drums are way too loud on a lot of these songs and the mixing is generally a hot mess on most of this mixtape. Know Better's production being botched compared to the snippet that was shared weeks ago is also a massive disappointment. With my complaints out of the way, I can say this project is really a slow burning vibe and I can definitely see a lot of these songs going on my vibes playlist and this is way more instant compared to Crash so that's already a win. :clap3:

The remixes were not needed on this project btw.

It's way better than Crash, but it's not giving WWW1. In fact, WWW1 will likely remain her magnum opus and I don't think it can be topped. The choice to release this only 2 months after her newest album in 2 years still doesn't really make sense to me. I can't tell if it's damage control for the response that Crash got, or if she's signaling a long wait until her next studio album.

i thought it was pr tactic of distraction because her baby daddy leaking she a mess and in cult etc.

im still jamming so cant comment on project yes besides loving SINGLE and when hes not there

Really enjoyed this, not a popular opinion butI really enjoyed Crash for what it was, and this almost beats it for me :clap3:

There is a solid album between this and CRASH…I just don't know how to put it together

yeah in full this is way better than CRASH with more replay value but the criticism is that it lacks any big hitters or discography highlights. It's solid R&B tho and I loveeee

I'm only halfway through and I'm sorry this eats. Might end up in my top 2 from her alongside God Water Road.

ot: why are there two threads for this?

i'm just not sure what the point of releasing this was

so she can sing it people can listen to it, while the artist and label makes some money.

as is the point with every musical release.

ok smart ass, i meant 2 months after releasing crash. does she not like that album? was it just a label effort? those are the questions i'm asking, your attitude was not needed
