Not really, cause Charli is still the coolest pop girl.

Just because it's more mainstream and you can't gatekeep it to make your taste seem more interesting doesn't make it cringe.

can't believe  Charli's peak is a top 60

I mean she's still upward  :bird: We'll see what her peak is. Her Spotify numbers are impressive for me.

Yes. When millennials find out about something now, it usually turns to cringe.

that's the most stupid and lazy tiktok dance i've ever seen omg :skull:

One second it's only poppers gays , now it's for normies and is cringe because everyone knows it?

What's the narrative girls you're unable to come up with anything consistent

It's actually the other way around, my love! The album was made by millennials, for a millennial audience, inspired by millennials, about a 32 year old millennial woman sharing her millennial experiences. Then Gen Z comes in and starts making TikTok dances to everything :doc:

Like, i love St. Vincent to death (my favorite lesbian) but if i see my neighbors doing tiktok dances to her sings in the streets i would start shiver of second hand embarassment. The material don't turn cringey, it's other people that wreck thing! Don't blame the artist blame community and Mark Zuckerberg and whoever invented tiktok.

This. And it's not like Charli is gonna become a mainstream force now. She'll most likely be back to her usual pace next era, let her have this moment.

that's her brand and reason her career always up and down between camping done right and disastrous commercial sound balance.

now? what?

Charli made the choreo for the TikTok dance...

This thread is stupid

You can't like something because other people do?  THAT is cringe worthy

Not the album itself but Tiktok dances are always cringe and I wish she hadn't associated the album with any type of political campaign.

Omg

It's Charlie Xcx. You know the girl that made I love it, Fancy, Boom clap.

You're acting like she was an obscure artist. She is not and she doesn't want to be that. She loves and works hard to be a big pop star.

every trend that locals jump on become a bit cringy tbh

happy that it's a smash era for charli though & i love the album :clap3:

ATRL says woman should have more success than they do for years on end until they actually get said success, at which point they switch so fast to criticizing their success or calling it "cringe".  The problem here is not Charli, it's these people who look for sabotage.

The album is a masterpiece, but the "BRAT summer" thing is getting annoying. The Apple dance has blown up and so many people are doing it wrong. When BRAT became intertwined with American politics, that's when we saw how it's going too far. It's not funny anymore. And it's almost fall, so are we gonna have a BRAT fall? Winter? Spring? I'm just happy Charli is getting all this acclaim and recognition that she deserves.

No she did not. It was this queen that started it, and now everyone does it wrong.

gatekeeping is cringeworthy. If you stop listening to an artist only because they are not your little indie hidden underground secret it's kinda pathetic.

Mess! Well she performed her own "cringe" TikTok dance on her account, so I doubt she feels the same as the person who started this thread.

"Now" implies there was a time when it wasn't cringeworthy

so are we overrating its impact like some atrlers are claiming or is it becoming normie culture? which is it? cant have it both ways OCHs :gaycat5:

It's still top 15 on the BB200 and she's  been around for over a decade tho, she kinda eclipsed the career of some other UK girlies
