At least Christina tried something new. Most of the song is quite good actually.

No, it was definitely interesting

I don't think it was as bad as ATRL says (because ATRL mostly likes overproduced samey stuff anyways)

 

I can say that the offbeat vocal makes it sound awkward

and I guess there is a bit repetition (which is bad when it doesnt have replayability, which this song suffers from imo)

+I do think that it's another song that would've been accepted more (or outright called genius) if it was from one of ATRL's favs

I love this song. The video is weird and cringey. 

This is a bop and whoever disagrees deserves to have their license revoked and their car in a junkyard 

I actually strangely loved this when it released. It aged terribly tho, em people that were saying it was too ahead of its time were wrong I fear... Or maybe it was so ahead of its time that 6 years later it's still not hitting and needs more time (like Bionic, maybe in another 14 years that album will start sounding good?)

It deserved a better music video. The lyrics in contrast to that minimalistic approach with black and white and the stripped back vibe she was trying to introduce didn't fit at all.

 

That being said I was so excited she came back after 6 years with something so weird. I hope she keeps the weird coming with a new English album.

It's fun, imperfect song. I never got the hate; it's different and tries some interesting stuff with vocals + production, to some success. 

 

The reaction to this song was the first time I truly took notice of stan culture, lol. The way people hated her for trying something new and simultaneously celebrated mediocrity from others was something else.

I stand by the opinion that if this song was released by an artist which is considered cooler (like Rihanna) it would have been much more praised.

 

It is excellent and I applaud the fact that Christina came back after a long time with something so unusual, instead of being boring and generic.

Never got the hate, it's a bittersweet piece of music. The only bad part of the song are Ty Dolla Sign vocals

 

It's such a vibe. I turn it up when i'm getting ready to go out.

Y'all pissed her off so bad with how you treated this album that she won't even sing in English anymore
